Disappointed with DLC and game

I won't say much because if I did I'd go on forever. This game had little appeal to make me want to come back, playing this game was a task, not a pleasure, not even an experience. Unlike any morpg this game tries to be, it lacks customisation and story telling and most importantly it actually lacks the multiplayer. Non existent matchmaking, you're forced to play alone for the duration of the poor excuse of a main quest line. If you don't want to have a gutrenching hard or tedious time trying to solo missions, raids and strikes then you need to party up, and odds are your friends don't play this game because they know just how boring it is. The DLC should've come with the main game, nothing new was added, the Crota plot line was more fitting of a main story than the current one, and the house of wolves is a desperate attempt to convince people Bungie actually tried to make an interesting experience. They didn't.

  • I was surprised to see GameStop selling Destiny for $20 this week. That's a pretty good sign, to me, that we are pretty far down the backside of product life for this game. I fear that, without a more inclusive environment, the opportunity for many to form a raid or even POE team from friends that still play will quickly diminish. I know that 50% of my friends appear to be moving on.

  • Expertly said. I can remember playing this with friends in late Oct and all of us dozing off at various points because the game is so boring and repetitive. Played through HoW because I had the season pass, I was laughing at how running backwards through something equates to "new" in Bungies eyes. The DLC was just a few locked off rooms that were on the game at launch and we had more fun glitching into them that actually playing through them.

  • That's funny, I played through most of the story with friends. I have about 20 friends online right now playing Destiny, and it grows into the 40-50 range every night. Perhaps you have the wrong friends, or you're just playing the wrong game for you? Either way, there's no need to come on the forum and be a depressing mope about it. If you don't like it, don't play. Or are you seeking validation from other killjoys like yourself?

  • Agree. It's as if the whole purpose of Destiny is to grind for gear followed by leveling said gear. The PVE side is uber stale, and the community fractured due to ToO. Obvious bait and switch from PVE to PVP to stretch out cut content. But Activision is behind this so don't expect anything to change.

  • I'm disappointed with this DLC as well. PoE isn't that fun. It's a set of bullet sponges trapped in a small room with no good place to fight. There's no adventure, no progress, just repetition. 3 passes through at any level and it becomes a chore quick. This isn't end game content, it's just another map that takes 3 times or more longer to complete. I don't want PvP, I don't want small rooms updates. I don't want all my weapons merged and new ones introduced that are lesser to what I already have. I want story, adventure, new places to travel to, new enemies, easier access to multiplayer experience, new toys to play with. This DLC gave me none of that.

    • No story was the reason I never played Titanfall. But at least they were upfront about the fact that they weren't gonna do a campaign. I got sucked into this game unknowingly

      • I dont know what people think, when they decide to buy a new DLC. What i mean is simple: if after 9 months of game we got only problems (connection, lag, lag switch, hacking etc etc). And Bungie didnt it fix them after we spam many topics where we ask to do something. Why some people still buy the DLC???

Agreed, I also feel like the most enjoyable activities in the game, are only really fun for the most hardcore of players because of you ridicules amount of boring grinding you have to do. I miss the Halo 2 & 3 days when people just played because the game was fun and not because they had to grind just to get to the part they enjoy, or because they wanted some arbitrary loot reward. Honestly the people who obsess over getting Gally and Hawkmoon are starting to creep me out a little. Or maybe I just feel sorry for them since I got both in my first couple of Nightfalls. But using them isn't some kind of transcendent experience worth devoting hundreds of hours to obtaining. They're just cool guns that are pretty cool.

        • I really hope someone at Bungie reads this. I don't care if they change their money milking approach to games, I want them to know that as a company that should be entertaining people; they've failed their most loyal fans who have been with them since the first Halo. Farewell.
