How to join a fireteam at the Prison of Elders boss!
This has a happy ending, and you should read for future reference! : )
My friend, a random guardian from LFG, and I were completing the level 34 Prison of Elders fight, Urrox's Grudge. After a significant (and fun) amount of time we made it to round five against Urrox. After multiple attempts we finally got Urrox health down to 15% when I received a Beetle error code, and was kicked to orbit. This left my two fellow guardians in the fight, without their fellow bubble boy to assist.
I tried rejoining through Xbox and Destiny, but couldn't because their event was almost completed and fireteam joining was disabled! They wiped for me to rejoin, and I still couldn't rejoin even though they never left the airlock! After five minutes of trying numerous different ways of rejoining my fireteam, Destiny prevented me from rejoining! I was extremely frustrated, depressed, and it seemed that the last two hour joyful experience would reap me zero rewards. As a last ditch effort, I tried one more thing:
I had my two fellow Guardians wipe a final time. I accepted a Xbox game invitation between the respawn screen and before the round was activated by the flaming servitor the Warden speaks through, and I was able to rejoin!! We finished it in two more tries, and now my Titan is wielding the Prison of Elders auto rifle, Wolfslayer's Claw.
You only have roughly five seconds to do this for it to work. It appears that once the round 5 modifier appears on the fireteams screen, and the flaming servitor speaker box appears then no one can join. You would have to re-wipe and try it again. I hope this helps! : )
Why do you think Destiny prevents Guardians from joining/rejoining the final round of Prison of Elders, with no ability to save the round checkpoint?

One attempt we got him down to 20%, but the Dismantle Mines makes it ten times harder if you have to collect Essence and have a constant sniper presence without another class. After one of us quit to change to a Titan, however, neither me nor our teammate could get him back in... If Bungie really expects people to complete the Triumphs panel, then they need to fix stuff like this, otherwise there's absolutely no point if a bug is going to defeat you.

4 Repliesyes thank you so much this just happened to my team on the level 35 arena at the skolas checkpoint no way we were starting that again! we wiped and he joined and now everythign's dandy! (i'll post whether we defeat skolas or not :P )

Can't get past Qodron, both other fireteam members had to leave, I can't seem to invite anyone to finish it, and there's no saving, so once I turn it off I have to start over. I also can't get to level 34 without doing this crap; Nightfall strikes for the past two weeks have given me nothing but strange coins. And elitist asshats seem to think that gjallarhorn is something everyone has since they have it and not the luck-based thing it actually is. Oh and while typing this I got kicked to orbit for inactivity anyway.

1 ReplyYep this is exactly what happened to me and my friends during the last round of 35, one of us lagged out and he couldn't re-join. This is complete bullshit and should be fixed, we had to start the whole thing again

4 RepliesThis is crazy! I got kicked out as we were finishing Round 5 of level 34. I could not rejoin and my teammates finished and got their rewards. I am very disappointed with the House of Wolfs…

7 RepliesOn a related note, Something needs to be done about the return to orbit count down. Had someone in my fireteam die from the drop down to the treasure room and he wasn't able to get rewards cause the count down expired before we could revive him.

3 RepliesIf possible, I'm not a programmer, but they should make it to where if your friend was in the game and he lags out, him and only him (the person who lagged out) should have maybe a 5 minute timer to rejoin the game before he can't anymore, and you could only use checkpoints if it was the same people on the same characters in your game
