Highest rated infection screenshots taken on sandtrap...in the last month Make your own searches by changing the options in the drop-downs. Remember to search before you sort and filter. Here's a short File Share Q & A:
Q. Somone made a file set with my file! A. Yup. Anyone can make a file set using your stuff BUT author created file sets get priority over other sets. This means your file set will be the default and users will have to use the drop-down to see the other file sets.

Q. I don't want to search by tag. I just want to see all the files and sort them. A. Select your file type and leave the search field blank. Search and then sort/filter. Easy!

Q. Cooliris isn't working! A. You have to do a search for all screenshots, gallery or fileshare screenshots. Then hover over the thumbnail. A mixed file search result won't work. Cooliris is also enabled in your screenshot gallery and recent screenshots.

Q. Where are the file forums!! A. The file forums have been hidden. We still use them for file comments. Tag your files! People will find your file if it's good and tagged correctly.

Q. Why do some files have a blue background? A. We decided to spotlight bungie pro users because they're awesome! Want a blue background and bigger more awesome fileshare? Get Bungie pro.

Q. How many tag submissions does it take before the tag is actually applied to the file? Can you report specific tag ratings? A. 1. You can't report bad tags (you can of course report the file). What you can do is rate up the tags that are correct. Sure your file might get tagged incorrectly but that's ok--files are sorted by the numbered of times they've been tagged. EX: Someone tags your elite screenshot "spartan". Since it's only been tagged once your screenshot will be displayed on the last page of the search result (for spartan). We have tools to combat griefing as well. We display the top seven tags for a file first and you have to click on "show all tags" to see the rest. Think of the top seven tags of what the file actually is--and the remaining tags are what the file may or may not be.
If you have any questions or feedback leave it here! Thanks! • Okay class, today I'll be teaching you how to properly tag your fileshare items for the best possible effect, and I will be telling you some tips on tags. If you want to add something, feel free and I will update my post. First off, lets get to the basics... Kind Thoughts
1.
Posted by: RocketMoose You should consider with any tag you add, that you don't have any private right to that tag. Anyone else can use it too. So if you tag a file with a group name, gamertag, or secret phrase, and the file gets popular, other people are going to use it as well. You should have no expectation of having a "reserved" tag.
2. Make sure that you +1 tags that you feel apply to the file your are viewing. This is one of the things that make the tagging system work so well.
The Do Not's
Okay, let's get to it. 1. Try not place your name as a tag on a file by another author with intentions of stealing fame. 2. When browsing through files in bungie.net, do not simply brisk through them, try to add some tags, or mark some existing tags up.
The Do's
Now, let me say what you should do. 1. If your file is a map, always include a size. There are three definite sizes: small, medium, and large. This is especially helpful on foundry maps. These are relative to the default map size, so if your map is valhalla, and a tag with that is "medium" , then that would mean your map primarily uses only half of the whole map. If it's a dodgeball arena for sandtrap, it would probably be "small". 2. If your file is a map, don't forget to include whether or not it is symmetrical as a tag, the options would be "symmetrical", or "asymmetrical". Symmetrical basically means that if you split the map in half and compare the two slices, almost nothing has changed. 3. Please tell us whether your map is best suited for slayer or objective gametypes, and FFA or team games by using either tags "slayer", "objective", "team", and "FFA". 4. You can always put your name or the authors name as a tag, so you can easily pull up all the files of that author by just looking his name up as a tag. 5. If you see or have a file that is unlike any other, go ahead and add "awesome", "cool", or other tags to make it stand out. 6. If your file is a film, film clip, or screenshot, please include a tag that explains where it was taken. You can use either of these: "custom", "campaign", "ranked", "social".
Useful Tagging Techniques
Here are some very useful techniques that I have learned after about five minutes of tinkering around with tags. Category Tags These are words that are the most descriptive for maps, and are usually already found as categories for map forums of the like, and the are as follows... Arena: These maps are very small, and usually symmetrical maps, they are usually suited for close combat or mini-games. Asymmetrical: See Section: Do's #2 Art: These maps are forge art, usually drawing in weapons or dramatic screenshots with various effects. Competitive: These tags indicate that they are made with the highest forging abilities, so that they can be used competitively. They also look good, have nice flow, and function very well with every gametype. FFA: This means your map is best suited for free for all combat. Interactive: This means that your map has some interactive hazards, switches, or scenery. Maze: This means that your map is a maze, this usually is accompanied by the "zombie" tag, as explained below. Mini-game: This map is usually small in size, and you usually do not have to finish an objective or kill so many players to win. It might also has an honor system or a different set of rules. An example is Toro Toro, it's not meant for any slayer or objective games. It has one player as "the bull" in a chopper, and every other player has to dodge the bull to win, while stuck in a small room. Objective: This means your map is best suited for KoTH, CTF, oddball, or assault. Puzzle: This means that the map is not meant for the small-minded, it requires deep thinking to win, and is usually 1 player. Race: This tag means that your map is a racing map, which means you have to drive a vehicle and go through a track a certain number of times to win, the partner gametype for racing maps is V.I.P. Remake: This means the map is a remake to a previous Halo map or another map in a different game. Slayer: This simply means your map is best suited for slayer based gametypes. Symmetrical: See Section: Do's #2 Team: This means your map suits team gametypes rather then FFA. [Weapon, Vehicle]: If your file is a screenshot and displays a certain weapon, or is a film of you sniping, lasering, or splattering, make sure you include the weapon and/or vehicle as a tag. Zombie, Infection: This means your map is a infection map. Unique Tags Some of these tags I have found useful if everyone uses them, they describe the file further. # - # players: Describes the player range that your map supports. Example: 4-8 players, 6-12 players. Canvas, Blank: This means the map is a canvas map, and has every possible object deleted. Easter Egg: If your file is a screenshot, film, or film clip that displays an easter egg of any kind, this is a must-have tag. Favorite: This means out of all your file items, this is your prized possession. Machinima: This means your map is purposely made for filming. The map might include lots of scenery objects. Multi-type: This means your map supports all gametypes. Pro: If your film or film clip shows a player displaying a very high degree of skill, go ahead and use this tag. Rare, Lucky: If your file is a film, screenshot, or film clip that you think displays something that could happen only once in a lifetime, use this tag. Wallpaper: If your file is a screenshot, this means it is wallpaper worthy and looks very good as a desktop background.
Short And Simple
When tagging films or film clips, it's very hard for other users to know what the film is about. 1. If your film or film clip shows you or someone getting an impressive medal, add that medal as a tag. 2. If your film or film clip shows you or someone doing a weird glitch, add a "glitch" tag. 3. If your file is a screenshot and displays a certain weapon, or is a film of you sniping, lasering, or splattering, make sure you include the weapon and/or vehicle as a tag. 4. This is optional, but helps generally. If your file is a film clip, then make sure to include whether you win or lose the game, by adding "win", "lose", "won", or "lost". • Q1 - A Question Stosh, If you add Tags, can you remove them. If so, how? Q2 - If your "Item" was rated 5/5 before the update. Would it still be 100%? Or would it have gone down to 50%? Because of the new system which is 1-10. Q3 - What does "Add to File Set" actually do? Q4 - Will I still be able to Publish Items? I want to write up a Walkthrough for my SLASO runs, and include it in my File Share items. Will I still be able to do this? [Edited on 10.06.2008 1:26 PM PDT]
