I've had similar issues with Lightning Grenade, but it's usually because of how they design the walls. There's always miniature angled surfaces and if you happen to land it on a bad spot you get -blam!-ed over for your sheer bad luck. It's something I've learned to be a little careful of, though I still run into the issue regularly because shit happens fast and you don't always have the luxury of time. I've hated these new changes because despite me trying to make sure I know when ammo's incoming, I find myself having to literally try to find the remaining ammo caches that drop and aim-in up close to get the timer. This sort of information needs to be easily detected from a distance. If I have to literally molest the nonexistant ammo cache to find out when it drops next, I'm wasting precious time I should've spent pushing against the enemy team. I've had an instance today where I looked directly at heavy for the timer, never saw the timer, and proceeded to walk away deciding I was better off waiting a bit longer. Upon death I hear the infamous 'heavy ammo inbound' and by the time I spawned in, I missed it and was blasted away by Rockets & LMG's. I was very excited for this update but it hardly lived up to the expectations. Timers are basically a distraction from actual gameplay at this point, and while in some game modes it doesn't matter, having this sort of secondary distraction to the actual Control points makes me very frustrated. What was once my favorite game type is now my least favorite because it has me juggling responsibilities way too much. I would rather see a system that simply awards Special to players based on a timer and perhaps have the amount scale slightly off of Primary weapon kills. The fact ammo crates are intended to be another dynamic to fight over isn't my favorite idea. I loved it for Heavy Ammo, this was a great idea, but I feel our Secondary weapon is as intrinsic to gameplay as the Primary. Not having ammo for my Secondary for almost the entirety of the game because I can't be arsed to distract myself with not just Heavy, but Special ammo as well. Anything but this current shitfest. I'm tired of the game coming down to knowledge in place of skill. Anyone can learn, given enough time. When you shove a plethora of need-to-know knowledge down our throats, it's like a whole different kind of 'grind' on top of the grind that already exists. I'm the type of guy that acts on instinct in the Crucible, and it gets me places. But when all it takes to counter my playstyle is whore out ammo caches and use gimmicks like Burning Shrines' solar brightness, yeah, I get a little more than peeved that my gunskill isn't enough unless I resort to maybe Thorn. And I'm tired of resorting to Best-in-Slot gear when this game was supposed to allow freedom of choice. It's hardly freedom of choice whenever they weigh things so unevenly.

  • Don't forget the Invective and Ice Breaker recharge their ammo.........................................................I read the article about the update which read something like "We want to have people thinking about whether or not I should waste a shot from my sniper" in other words be smart" well they didn't mention "Just be careful against someone with a Ice Breaker because they can go ballistic with their shots" Not that I have anything against the Ice Breaker or Invective but where is the fairness in that for the people who don't have those guns yet. At least when we had a good amount of special ammo to being with and special ammo boxes spawned a lot faster I guess you can say lower level characters had a chance.
