People are always arguing that only science or a God can be true. Not both, but why not both? I mean how could all that we know as our universe just "BE" without atleast a small nudge from a God? Perhaps he set things in motion and then took a step back to let things naturally run their course? I'm not very religious and i don't know the bible inside and out, but wasn't the sun created on like the 3rd day or something to that effect? And if we use the sun to tell what is 1 day, then couldn't the first days have been thousands or millions of years? Just a thought... Like i said i'm not that religious so i'm sure i'm missing things, but maybe some of you guys can offer some more knowledgable opinions?

  • We simply do not know. No proof against god. No proof for god. We might never know. I have faith though.

the world is full of mysteries. No reason to discover them all right? If a god does exist. Guess we'll meet them whenever it's time. I do believe there is a being who's all powerful.

  • Science is the observation and understanding of real world processes. People identifying it as the set of beliefs atheists follow are painfully unaware of what science actually is. God, or godsfor that matter(there are religions apart from your own mind you) however, is an explanation for the unknown created by humans seeking closure towards things they don't understand, or cannot personally explain.

  • Gods not real and science is. You might as well be asking " can unicorns and horses co-exist?"

    • They can its just science hates that God created everything and they can't create something from nothing so they try to play God.

    • Yes they can but both sides aren't understanding the fact that both have proof and both have many followers so there isn't any right or wrong not until the day your 6 feet under...

        • Yes. For example if an atheist says everything came from science, and no gods they are ignorant. On the other hand, of a Christian says everything was made from God and no science (such as evolution) they're being ignorant. So yes god is the creator but science is gonna be science and take its course.

        • Before I write out my reply for this I just want to say to any Christians out there that don't believe the bible is literal that I have no problem with your faith, it is your own personal preference to have it or not, but you can't take a lot of the things in the bible as fact because they quite clearly are anything but. I don't believe in a god (except for our sun for creating the solar system, think that's as close as we can get) but I voted maybe because I believe that if there was they could co-exist... But not the Christian god, if you believe the bible is the word of god, because if it is the word of god there is way too many scientific errors in it for it to be written by a god.
the errors make it more obvious that is was written by ancient Hebrew scholars because of the basic lack of understanding of things
As to you saying the days before the sun was created being millions of years, the bible doesn't just say days when god is creating he earth but also says morning and evening, pretty specific for millions of years. God created the sun on day 4, the earth on day 1... And light... On day 1... But without the sun where the -blam!- is the light coming from? And how is there evening, night and a morning? Plants are created on day 3... So if there is still millions of years in between the days due to there not being a sun then how are they still alive when the sun is created? No sun = no photosynthesis... That's just a few problems with the creation story. Other than it completely missing out dinosaurs. Just a quick list of a few of my favourite ancient Hebrew (sorry I mean gods) mistakes in writing the bible: Bats are birds Insects have 4 legs (I mean seriously god have you only got 4 fingers to count with?) The firmament (solid roof over the world) The world is a circle (not sphere) The moon creates light The stars in the sky are small lights (not very big lights far away) that can fall out of the sky And faith healing (don't click here if you're very ill and you think faith healing will fix you)

        • Science is the study of all things, so yes, there is even science of religion (theology) so definitely

          • quite obviously not. science relies on evidence and testing. god does not.

          • One is proving something true, the other is believing something that can't be proved, they have nothing in common other than not existing. Science is a method, religion is madness.

They can exist depending on the interpretation of the dogma. There have been scientific people through out history. An example would be the God of the Gaps. Once scientist figure some thing out god is not need to explain things. Historically, people like Isaac Newton who died religious still believed in god but figured things out. Unlike today, the religious conservatives dislike the advancement in science, which may hinder advancements in modern civilization.

          • I dont understand how people think that because you believe in God and creation that you also do not believe in the validity of many aspects of science. I can believe that science is wrong in some areas and right in others.
