People are always arguing that only science or a God can be true. Not both, but why not both? I mean how could all that we know as our universe just "BE" without atleast a small nudge from a God? Perhaps he set things in motion and then took a step back to let things naturally run their course?
I'm not very religious and i don't know the bible inside and out, but wasn't the sun created on like the 3rd day or something to that effect?
And if we use the sun to tell what is 1 day, then couldn't the first days have been thousands or millions of years?
Just a thought...
Like i said i'm not that religious so i'm sure i'm missing things, but maybe some of you guys can offer some more knowledgable opinions?

Why tf is this on destiny forums?

Deism
nuff said
-
Well, yeah, seeing as how they do.
-
HE DOESNT EXIST AND IF HE DID HED BE USELESS
-
Yeah, Pope Francis says they can.
-
Science doesn't dissprove the idea of God, it just says the bibles wrong.
-
The science would explain the God, so it's plausible. In the future. Sometime.
-
-
Of course they can, as long as you don't take the bible word for word.
-
I'm atheist but we shouldn't be fighting over these things we should be treating everyone as equals so we can actually accomplish something
-
They can, people are just really pissy over the subject.
-
I am moderately religious, but I believe that there are many fake stories in the bible, but they generate faith/lesson/fear, like Noah's ark. Science can be physically and mentally proved, and religion also can, but as most people know, they can easily be warped through storytelling in generations, like a game of telephone
-
Easily through editing of sacred texts. Any religion can coexist with science
-
Science is all about finding the truth about how things work, using evidence and facts. If God is somehow proved to be real and is backed up by these things, then yes.
-
Science explains how God's world works.
-
In certain ways, yes.
-
We can neither disprove or prove god's existence. We just have to wait.
-
Theres no scientific evidance of any sort supporting the idea of any sort of diety reining over or involved in our reality. As such there is no reason to presume one or any exists unless you desire to feign knowledge of what you or others dont understand. God is dead all hail the fadoras

What the Bible said happened goes complete against the big bang and evolution. There's your answer right there
-
It could be said that god created the universe and created the laws of said universe that in turn created the things we needed to exist.
So what I'm saying is that god caused the big bang and created the guidelines for the possibility of making life, but it didn't directly create us it made us possible.
Even if God was real he'd be useless
-
As long as there are things unexplainable by science, God will fill in the gaps. Always has, always will. Unless science can eventually prove beyond any reasonable doubt that God cannot exist then there is room for him. However, God should never be an excuse not to push the boundaries of our knowledge as humans. We should always ask questions, rather than just shrug and say "God did it". Otherwise we'll get nowhere.

God is basically only supported because there's not really a way to know what happens after death
-
what kind of science
