Arena - Prison of the Elders - What if?
What if...
Prison of the Elders i.e. Arena was procedurally generated 3-player cooperative experience - all of it... never get the same experience twice...
All of the following was RNG / procedurally generated

1. dungeon / level
2. vehicles / or not
3. world / environmental effects
4. mobs / enemy's
5. wildlife / third party which could attack either you or enemys
6. World effect modifiers
7. Burn modifiers for Guardians
8. Burn modifiers for enemies
9. Shields for enemys
10. Boss(es) - 1+ is and type are random
11. Boss modifiers
12. Loot drop chest locations
13. Number of loot drops
14. Loot drop contents
i.e. - Play forever guardian?

1 ReplySo, from the Twitch Stream today - we now learn: House of Judgement (HoJ) seems to be a vendor HoJ dude had a Rank, like Rahul HoJ is tied to the Prison of Elders (PoE) aka arena event HoJ dude had PoE event rewards listed for purchase PoE is a Raid equivalent activity that we learn more about in 2 weeks PoE changes each week, but provides us a new experience every time we play it Need 'Etheric Light' (amongst other stuff) to upgrade 'all' non-exotics to 365 Etheric light comes from NF, PoE and Trials of Osiris Do not need Xur to upgrade Legendary, just do so with Exotic Shards for free

Procedurely generated dungeons are generally shit. See Skyrim and Diablo 3.

You're expecting far too much mate. By "it will never be the same each time" they mean "each will will have different modifiers but it will be the exact same enemies every time

1 ReplyI don't know if you remember but right before TDB released there was a video of three guardians running through the last part of the Eye of the Gatelord. The part where you can see the white plate from the entrance and 3-5 vex are coming towards you. Well in the video the three players are running and they pass a glowing chest which during regular play is never found there. I posted about it way back when but my topic never got any replies...I think you might be on to something here...

Sounds like there will be some variety to the arena mode. Not going to get too excited about it until I see what they mean by that, but it sounds promising.

4 RepliesThat'd be f'ing awesome! Can we add some random puzzle type element to it too? Doesn't have to specifically be a puzzle, just something to figure out that you haven't done before. If they do that, I'd say screw the raids.
