Forbes' latest Destiny article

So I just read Forbes' latest article on why foregoing a raid for HoW next month is a good move for them. I completely understand and even agree with this move from a business standpoint on both Bungie and Activision's part, given the surprisingly low percentage of exotic users and raid completors, but it still just didn't seem right to me. A lot of people are whining that this is just another way for them to get more money out of us, which may be true, but it also makes sense to me that a speculated "horde mode" will do a better job at involving more than just 1/5 of the player base, which is what the raids do now. So here's my question: is it really that hard to give us both? According to many reports, some I believe from Bungie themselves (I may be wrong though), the HoW raid was primarily complete before the game was even launched last year. Sure they have to constantly tweak and refine, but I am not thrilled about waiting 4 more months for a raid that for all intensive purposes should be released next month with the dlc. What does everyone else think? If you haven't read the Forbes article, I recommend doing so, especially if something in this post didn't make sense. Also, let me finish by saying I am still excited for HoW, and am a destiny fan overall, no matter how bad Bungie can be at times.

  • I think a cooperative multiplayer mode that is replayable is a very good idea. I would like to see multiple maps and for them to up the team size to six. Maybe an instance in a patrol zone. They could do rewards similar to crucible. That would be fun. I'd like another raid though.

    • Stopped teading when he used statistics to "prove" that many do not complete certain activities. He KNOWS that the reason so few complete a raid is because they are counting anyone who ever signs in as a player - everyone who logs in for a quick go on a friends machine, or returns the game as they saw it didn't meet the hype. This can be easily seen by the low number of players who even pick up an exotic. After wilfully misleading us to make a point I do not trust the article (although generally the Forbes destiny articles are very good.

      • Why not both? And if they added OPTIONAL matchmaking to raids, maybe more than 1/5 of the player base would be playing them...
