I think people just want a PVE event for once. Iron Banner is pretty broken too, let's be honest.

Unless there's new cinematics, areas, enemies, the PvE crowd will not be satisfied. And those things only come with paid DLC. I just don't see a successful PvE Event on the horizon. As for Iron Banner, I love it. They've really done a good job with the rewards and gear. The only problem is a broken spawn system that is inevitable with using asymmetrical maps for a Gametype that requires symmetry to be fair.

I think the main problem with the Banner is lag...the whole Crucible is full of it. Also what is technically "new" with Iron Banner? It's just slightly non-scaled Control. I participate in it every time it comes around. But I don't see a "problem" necessarily with bringing a PVE event every month as well. If you don't want to participate cause you're "tired of the same old missions" then don't. Nobody would force you to, but the option is nice to have.
