Destiny 4th class?

So before i begin, in no way, shape, or form am i saying that there is going to be a 4th class in Destiny (as of this moment in time) so if that is what you were expecting then leave now. I am just curious as to see what other interesting or unique class'es others have thought of or made up! I have had a few interesting ideas of my own which are all support classes, for example imagine a summoner class, his/her super would allow him to spawn some allies which can attack enemies for you? Maybe they can be ranged, of run around with a sword, possibly run and blow them-selves up to kill something? Maybe you can spawn 1 buff tanky kind of team-mate or it could spawn a swarm of weak team-mates. Not only would this be helpful in PvE but can change the outcome of a PvP battle as well (if hunters can have a 1 shot gun, why can't a summoner spawn a few team-mates?) As another interesting class, we could have a trapper, somebody who can trap bosses/hordes of enemies? Imagine running through the beginning of crota, running to a lamp with all the thrall behind you and a trapper turns and traps every one of them for 5 to 10 seconds (maybe even causing damage) while everybody else has time to turn and run or time to lower their weight of darkness? Those were my 2 best ideas, and I (plus every-body else who made it this far) would love to hear everybody's idea's! Go into as much detail as you want! (Please note again that this is a for fun topic, this is not ment to actually inspire a new class [like bungie would listen anyways] thank you)

  • No, no no my friend, Your ideas are good and interesting but in my mind they don't really fit in with how I see destiny. That's because destiny isn't a real RPG. Titans are not tanks, warlocks aren't controllers. The only real variation in are with the supers but not their stats so the possibility of having a forth class would just be insult to injury due to the last three classes are not actually fulling any roles so what's the point in adding another. The little variation between the three is actually well balanced. Each class wields 2/3 elements (at this point in time) and each has a unique melee attack- short/ titan mid/warlock long range/hunter. A forth would disrupt the balance between the three. A forth class would be a game changer. So you have to maintain the balance between the four classes or add to it in a way that doesn't cheapen the originals. To do this I believe forth element would be needed. And this new class and it's melee can't be deemed short/mid/long range along with the new element sub class which kinda cause a pickle. So with a new element and a new class (neither will never happen) it would allow each class to wield 3/4 element subclasses so each class would be missing an element so it's fare. For a fourth class to work it has to meet the criteria stated above and the problem is having an attack type that's not short/mid/long range... Unless you count no attack as a type of attack which might just be weird. Now with all that said and done. I've always had the Idea that the fourth class or if you look at the guardians shield logo the section with only diagonal lines is disbanded or exiled class. Evil guardians or wardens. They left because a) they didn't fit in with my ott criteria or b) perhaps they just didn't get along and had different methods I dunno but the idea of having exiled guardians lends it's self to putting new enemies and maybe some actual plot development into the game.
