I just noticed Destiny is 76 on metacritic....
How did Bungie go down from being a top tier game developer to this....
even the user rating is 6/10...

How much would YOU rate Destiny??
To me this game is a 6/10 mainly due to how addictive it is to play with others in strikes and raids... everything else needs MAJOR improvements and where is that story at?
but i did get my money's worth after 500ish hours

8.5 / 10. Story is choppy. Blah blah blah Shooting mechanics are fantastic. Run mechanics sucks. How can you get the shooting mechanics so great and the screw up the run switch? Graphics are off the chart. Strikes and raids are incredible. Bounties are so boring it hurts lol. I try to choose bounties that I can fill with strikes. Character customization blows. Currency system seems designed by a 4 year old. Exotic weapons and armor balance is perfect. Character supers are amazingly well developed. Item storage is a complete afterthought and terrible. PvP looks great (I don't play it enough to weigh in knowledgeably however) Server issues have crippled the game at times. Gun balancing seems a continuous issue

6. Its 'meh'. And thats about it. Im suffering from Destiny burn out at the moment and am currently loving both the campaign and multiplayer of BF Hardline.

10 RepliesThe game is probably the smoothest, most mechanically sound shooters I've played. If you expect a great story out of a FPS, you'll be disappointed wherever you look.

Bungie's own fault for people expecting more from it. They created the hype, they made the promises and broke them upon delivery (open world anyone?) More content was definitely needed (and still is, something free would be nice), the rewards system needs tweaking and their testing can be way better (glitches & cheeses). Other than that the mechanics are rock solid and one of the few games you can enjoy with friends quite easily without conversations being lost in the heat of the battle.

7 or 8/10 for the excellent game play along with the raids and strikes that make it so fun. Needs a lot of work for a 10. Anyone rating it a 10 is fooling themselves or has never played a great game.

I'm rating Destiny 8/10 for these reasons - Money, sooooo much stuff to do, pve, PvP, farming, looting, etc - Graphics are great - Lots and lots of stuff LEFT to do in the game after 300+ hrs..... What else do you guys want? I'm not claiming to be the best nor the worst guardian but i do see a lot of bitching and whining over little details

We all grind the story then forget about it while we raid and strike, which to me is the better side of the game. How many people play COD multiplayer and rave about the story line?? They dont, they just constantly grind the same dozen maps to unlock perks etc on guns then when they get to the top they prestige and grind it all over again!!!!. I started all over again on ps4 which (believe me) helped me to appreciate my level 32s on xb1, and how much i miss my fatebringer and gjallahorn!

So you only base a game off from the story? Interesting.... What do you rate the shooting mechanics? What do you rate the graphics? What do you rate the user interface? Yeah I am well aware that the story is very sub par and that the game lacks in some areas. But I feel it deserves more credit than it gets. Compare it to other new gen games, and game play wise it will probably beat it.

5 RepliesFrankly, 76 on metacritic is pretty darn good. I don't put much stock in reviews anyhow. What I know is this: Destiny is one of the most played games in recent history. Very few people put 800+ hours into a game unless it's at least good. Destiny is one of the most misunderstood games ever made. Yeah, it's story is a bit short. Kinda like every game made in the last few years. However, Destiny has longevity that none of them have had. Because... Destiny has the greatest potential of any game in the last 10 years (or maybe ever). Most games are akin to movies. A self contained plot that plays out in a few hours, then is over. The sequel comes out a few years later, and the whole process repeats. Destiny is more like a TV series. Each installment has its own plot, albeit a brief one. But over time, a larger picture emerges. You have to realize that Destiny wasn't complete at release. It was never [i]meant[/i] to be complete upon release. The story will be built upon until a clearer picture is revealed. Taking all that into account, I'd rate Destiny an 8 to start. Though I expect that number to rise.

3 RepliesSee people are rating the game poorly, but yet you like it enough to read forums about it, and even to post something about it. I don't understand the point in that. If you rate it poorly then don't read the forums. Now with that my review. This game has a short story but has so much more to give. Whether you are a seasoned vet at shooter games or you are a rookie, looking for a beginning. This game has it all. It has many different game modes, many different missions you can do. If your looking for competitive playing it has that also. Granted it all seem repetitive, the destiny story is constantly growing. More people are playing. Destiny is a game that when you pick up the controller you delve into a world of adventure and excitement, a ever changing world that you can see changing. And that is what makes a great game. I rate it a 10/10 because of how it is evolving and becoming more than a game. And to those nay sayers out there your opinion is your own, leave it at that. Thank you.
