Vaping is a douchey trend. Why don't you just call it smoking?

Vaping was ORIGINALLY for people who wanted to quit smoking as I got into it for. I agree, I go into a shop and there's a bunch of kids with holes in they're ears the size of quarters but that's not what it's used for. You're uneducated about vaping and believe the facts you hear from uneducated people.

Look, I know it's uses and shit for people trying to quit. The word sounds douchey as fuck still because of the average people in my state that "vape" are between the ages of 16 and 30 and they've never smoked in their life.

But seriously, the term vaping sounds so douchey. Why can't we call it smoking? I mean, it's a e-cig right? (correct me if I'm wrong) It's just trending and it bothers me that kids are picking it up. I know the pros of it for smokers. I just don't understand the hype, you know?

Yeah it sounds a little hipster-ish, but you're technically not smoking. When you "smoke" an e-cig, it's really an aerosol or "vapor" (its technically not a vapor, but whatever). There's no smoke involved, hence why they call it vaping. The reason why it's so popular, in my opinion, is that you can have the feeling and satisfaction of smoking a cigarette without actually smoking a cigarette. E-cigs can come with or without nicotine, and are great for those trying to ween themselves off cigarettes. Is it a passing trend? Eh. I don't really think so. I have a feeling it'll make chewables and patches completely irrelevant in the near future.
