The Siege of Jeksis; Chapter 1: The Return of Arttu

Hello guardians, this is AnonPig of The Collective of Fanfiction and I'd like to take this moment to invite all writers and readers alike to join! This is a single part of a much larger story, A New Dark Shines, to read from the beginning of the beginning: Arttu and the Ahamkara-Chapter 1; The Spine The Return of Arttu Tensions were high when Arttu returned to the tower. So much had happened in these past few days, but it was over now. The troubles Ryluth had brought to him and to the city had ended, he was ready to move on. The vanguard didn't wish to trust Arttu again, especially since he insisted on still wearing the Ahamkara Spine. But grudgingly they accepted him back into the ranks of the guardians. It was the acts of valor he performed in defeating an Ahamkara single handedly, and one that wished to destroy the city at that, or so they thought. Arttu had hidden away the bones of Ryluth, they were his by right and they would not be taken from him. But now is not the time for them, his spine hasn't spoken since Ryluth, and possibly never had. The whole of those events were behind Arttu now and he was even being given assignments again. ~ Arttu was first asked to scout a mission about some new Vex programming out on mars, but he declined. He had developed a sixth sense for missions and he knew that would not be one he wanted to go on. ~ A frame approaches Arttu as he gazed out across the city. "The vanguard wish to speak to you." The frame said to him. He made his way to the vanguard.Apparently these were dark days, it seemed as if left and right new enemies were rising just looking for a challenge. He had become a well admired scout, easily able to get in and out of enemy lines unseen. He wondered what this mission would be. "Hello Hunter" Cayde-6 said. Arttu doubted if he actually knew his name, he seemed due for a wipe so he wouldn't be surprised. "There's trouble in the north east of the Old States, a fallen house has been rising in power drastically." "Is that anything new?" Arttu asked, worried why he was being called for such a seemingly simple mission. "There's always houses rising into power." "Well, this one isn't like the others. The houses and Kell we've faced still lack true hold of land, whether it's fighting us or something else, they could never really get their claws around it. But Jeksis did." Thankyou for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig reminding you to live beyond the story! Chapter 2; Kell of Epiphany
