Whilst I do enjoy horror films quite a lot, I never find myself actually getting terrified by them and I have never been unable to sleep after watching a horror movie. So, I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever actually been terrified after seeing a movie or been unable to sleep after watching one.
If you have then what movie was it? What scared you so much?
-
2001: A Space Odyssey. The monolith man, it was scary.
-
A movie never has. But when I was little I was watching the ring over my friends house, once the movie ended, his dad called the house phone and I almost pissed my pants.
-
Night of the living dummy!!!! Remember this?
-
I fearquit while trying to watch most horror movies, so yes. The one I remember most is the first 15 minutes of Quarantine.
-
Hellraiser was disturbing.
-
The Ring, when I was a kid. Now, nothing. Shock value means nothing to me, other than that it's annoying and stupid. Unfortunately, that's 99% of horror movies these days. Not to say I don't like horror movies. The original Thing was awesome, and JC's Thing was the best horror movie ever. The new Thing...simply terrible. Not looking forward to the Evil Dead remake.

Yes, Scary movie 4
Sarcasm
Maybe when I was a kid

Edited by ToastyWaffles: 1/14/2013 12:01:24 PMThe 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Donald Sutherland's face gave me nightmares.
-
Not now, but when I was younger.
-
The grudge back in 2004.
-
Dogs aren't as cute to me after seeing The Thing.

Edited by Payola: 1/14/2013 4:13:50 AMWhen I was younger probably. Some movies can get my heart racing and get me into the it but I love that.
-
I'm completely unable to handle horror. I like it just fine, I just throw myself around like a lunatic trying to brace myself for ninety straight minutes.
-
Edited by kgj: 1/14/2013 4:06:06 AMNot legitimately scared me, but the one movie that has legitimately kept me on the edge of my seat and up the entire night thinking would be The Thing. Seriously. To the point where each time my girlfriend wants me to shift positions on the couch while watching a movie, she mentions The Thing.

All the horror movies. I'm sill not desensitized to horror at age 23. 3spooky5me
-
The Exorcist watched it when I was 10.... never again.
-
Nope. The anticipation of doom, not the suspicion of it, is fear. Most horror fails to properly accomplish this.

Horror movies scare me really easily. The last one that I watched that scared the hell out of me was The Strangers. I could not sleep that night and had my dog and a machete with me all night.
-
Never. The only real time I've even been disturbed in a horror movie was in an older Japanese horror film, this girl was drinking blood out of a baby bottle. The imagery and the noises made me lose my appetite (was eating lunch or dinner while watching it), it was hard to watch.
-
Yes, plenty of times. Movies scare the shit out of me. Wolf Creek was the latest one i watched. It was scary, but also frustrating and just messed up.
-
That scene in Pinocchio where all the kids are getting turned into donkeys. Scarred me for life.
-
Paranormal Activity. I don't believe in the paranormal, but what the first film was, just average people being haunted by things that couldn't be seen directly, only its effects on normal things, and the sounds, holy mother-blam!-ing god, it's -blam!-ing terrifying. The fact it's so grounded makes it all the more real. It's brilliant. Scariest film I've ever seen.
-
The Ju-On movies are terrifying. They're the Japanese Grudge movies.
