How do I unlink an account? It says I can't unlink it while signed in but how do I unlink it when signed out? Is this just becase it's beta or am I not doing something right?

Well I've had this account for years here so this one was already created, but I tried signing in with my facebook and it created a new account and now it won't let me unlink that account and link my facebook back to this one. When I try to unlink it it says "Cannot unlink while signed in" or something like that. But if I sign out how would I unlink it that way?
