It was announced that Patch 5 for Dragon Age Inquisition has entered the Beta Phase and it is a SHINING beacon of how a developer is SUPPOSED to treat their community and how a developer is SUPPOSED to address community feedback.
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time than Destiny.
Yet the forums have been alight with unanimous requests for certain things.
The Community asked Bioware to bring back "The Black Emporium" from Dragon Age 2.
Why?
Simply put The Black Emporium was a black market for the player to get special gear and and other items for their character and people wanted to see a return of such a place.
Bioware's response?
- The Black Emporium: A mysterious underground shop owned by an immortal proprietor which appeared in the previous game via DLC. Here, the Inquisitor can purchase items such as epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics to add to the Inquisition.
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community kept talking about and requesting a way to alter their characters appearance in game.
Why?
The lighting in the Character creator can't 100% show how a character would look in the countless different lighting situations the game has. People (myself) included found a flaw or two in their character in certain lightings and had no way of fixing it.
Bioware's response?
- Mirror of Transformation: It is found inside the Black Emporium which also appeared in the previous game. It will enable the player to change facial appearance and voice in “Dragon Age: Inquisition.”
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community was upset that there was not a real storage option to help them keep gear or share gear between their characters.
There was no storage chest so you had to carry everything on you at all times. On top of that there was no way to share gear between your characters.
Bioware's Response?
- Undercroft Party Storage: BioWare will add a party storage located at the Undercroft of Skyhold, allowing players to keep items for later use.
Also being added to Patch 5.
ALL OF THIS IS BEING ADDED FOR FREE AND IS BEING DONE AT THE REQUEST OF THE COMMUNITY
That is not EVEN counting the patches that has come before this one that has fixed countless bugs and balanced numerous abilities.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
To the people who constantly feel the need to defend Bungie and the way they treat this game and their community.
To the people who constantly say "Programming these kinds of things takes time!"
Where is that logic in this situation?
Bioware has a smaller overall team working on Dragon Age.
Smaller overall community for Dragon Age
Smaller overall Budget for Dragon Age
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time
Dragon Age Sold alot less than Destiny.
Yet they have no problem pumping out patches and fixes that their community wants and that their game needs.
What is your excuse Bungie?
You have no shortage of community feedback yet you seem completely blind to our existence.
We already HAVE a storage system and simply want more space. Bioware are going to add a storage space FROM SCRATCH and have had LESS time to do it.
There are still bugs in the VoG that has existed for the LENGTH of the game, and yet you still have not fixed them.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
So I will ask again.
Whats your excuse Bungie?
Upvote this if you think that this community and this game deserves to be treated in a similar manner
EDIT: Over 650 upvotes and its not "trending" ..........hmmm.......how curious

Bump again
-
This is why bioware is my favourite game developer
-
-
All of this.. plus 1 more for good measure
-
This. These types of things are why I haven't played Destiny in about 2 months. Dragon Age is a fantastic game and that's all I've pretty much been playing. Destiny had soooo much potential and it seems like Bungie just wants to shit all over it. You really disappoint Bungie...you really do.
-
BUFF THE SUROS REGIME AND ALL ARS KEEP BUMPING AR POSTS UNTIL WE CAN COMPETE WITH PULSE RIFLES
-
Yet all these people are here playing destiny and on the destiny forums. So go play dragon age then. They have fixed and addressed some of the issue people complained about just as dragon age did. However there are things in dragon age if you go read the forums people are still complaining about same as here.

Bungie will burn its fanbase if it means making a little extra cash. That's their ethics.
-
Bungie has our money, so they think they are done. They consider fixing bugs to be a gift to us. Its so painfully clear that destiny users want new content. Showing us our rep in a way that should have been available to us in the first place is not worth my time to log on.
-
I disagree with you have to understand that Dragon Age had a smaller budget than Destiny Hence the do more less mentality comes into play. Bungie only had half a billion to work with give them a break.
-
-
we have the vault in which we can trade gear around between our characters and we have a black market xûr
-
Yeah but they made frogger and pitfall Og's dont have to do anything but keep on g'ing

I have been playing this game since November and all I can see is that Bungie is being controlled by Activision. Many people disagree with me on this and Bungie will not listen to this either but from what I have seen from our respectful developer is that they do not care at all about our opinions and thaughts about Destiny which will make this a much better game. I mean, they make a poll (what guns we like and use for example) and based on that they update the game(make pulse rifles stronger so that everyone is gonna use it). They do not listen to the community at all, which is very important(I guess) for a game like Destiny. This is all activision. Destiny is just a new franchise(like Call of Duty) which will sell a game every year with some DLC. The game has huge potential and I also think that the game was shortened because of the lacking capacity of the 360 and PS3, so we have to be a little patient and see whats upcoming for the next few years.

Edited by Clintron: 2/27/2015 12:52:45 AMi gotta agree, what confuses me is how quick Bungie is able to patch in fixes to cheeses, and nerfs, yet it took them forever to patch the heavy ammo bug, and the vault is still the same size. I feel Bungie is only interested in longer play times and more wipes. Not to mention, every game Bungie ever made before pretty much had some sort of video documentary of the development. There is not one for Destiny, because I assume they are legally not allowed to disclose that kind of information without Activision's approval or something. Plus all the main people behind Halo, are all gone from Bungie. They're just another company now that sells hype over quality. Most of Destiny's major issues could have been caught through more thorough testing, and extended development time, but i feel Destiny is more of a "product" test for a different style of gaming. And we paid for it, and i fear we will see more trash releases like Destiny in the future. EDIT: i got my moneys worth with the amount of playtime i have, but it doesnt compare to the quality of time i spent playing this game. much of it was a grind and frustrating, working towards playing a fun game mode once a week. other games that i put as many hours into, gave me more fun per hour

Bump. I so want Dragon Age Inquisition
-
How is this not trending. They abandoned destiny and putting it all in destiny 2 this game is one giant beta
-
Edited by TheMonkeyLogic: 2/27/2015 12:43:03 AMToo many people bought into the hype. They got our money and they are working on adding all the stuff we want into the next big release. Comet or Destiny 2. This is why we don't preorder a games!!! I learned my lesson especially with evolve. That game got old real quick.
-
Edited by ManYouForgot: 2/27/2015 12:44:00 AMLol I bought da:inquisition with the bonus stuff and never got in enough to play the story... Guess what I'm playing though? But I don't know why I can't ever play it, I loved dragon age origins and dragon age 2
-
Bungie does not know how to do anything but halo. Bio ware is more than a one-trick pony. I have no idea why you are suprised by this
-
Bungie= i do what i want when i want Other companies = how can i make my costumer happy?
-
Terrible game with great community focus or great game with decent community focus... I'll take the latter personally.
