It was announced that Patch 5 for Dragon Age Inquisition has entered the Beta Phase and it is a SHINING beacon of how a developer is SUPPOSED to treat their community and how a developer is SUPPOSED to address community feedback.
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time than Destiny.
Yet the forums have been alight with unanimous requests for certain things.
The Community asked Bioware to bring back "The Black Emporium" from Dragon Age 2.
Why?
Simply put The Black Emporium was a black market for the player to get special gear and and other items for their character and people wanted to see a return of such a place.
Bioware's response?
- The Black Emporium: A mysterious underground shop owned by an immortal proprietor which appeared in the previous game via DLC. Here, the Inquisitor can purchase items such as epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics to add to the Inquisition.
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community kept talking about and requesting a way to alter their characters appearance in game.
Why?
The lighting in the Character creator can't 100% show how a character would look in the countless different lighting situations the game has. People (myself) included found a flaw or two in their character in certain lightings and had no way of fixing it.
Bioware's response?
- Mirror of Transformation: It is found inside the Black Emporium which also appeared in the previous game. It will enable the player to change facial appearance and voice in “Dragon Age: Inquisition.”
They are gonna add it to the game in Patch 5.
The Community was upset that there was not a real storage option to help them keep gear or share gear between their characters.
There was no storage chest so you had to carry everything on you at all times. On top of that there was no way to share gear between your characters.
Bioware's Response?
- Undercroft Party Storage: BioWare will add a party storage located at the Undercroft of Skyhold, allowing players to keep items for later use.
Also being added to Patch 5.
ALL OF THIS IS BEING ADDED FOR FREE AND IS BEING DONE AT THE REQUEST OF THE COMMUNITY
That is not EVEN counting the patches that has come before this one that has fixed countless bugs and balanced numerous abilities.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
To the people who constantly feel the need to defend Bungie and the way they treat this game and their community.
To the people who constantly say "Programming these kinds of things takes time!"
Where is that logic in this situation?
Bioware has a smaller overall team working on Dragon Age.
Smaller overall community for Dragon Age
Smaller overall Budget for Dragon Age
Dragon Age has been out for LESS time
Dragon Age Sold alot less than Destiny.
Yet they have no problem pumping out patches and fixes that their community wants and that their game needs.
What is your excuse Bungie?
You have no shortage of community feedback yet you seem completely blind to our existence.
We already HAVE a storage system and simply want more space. Bioware are going to add a storage space FROM SCRATCH and have had LESS time to do it.
There are still bugs in the VoG that has existed for the LENGTH of the game, and yet you still have not fixed them.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to treat and listen to their community.
THIS is NOT how a Developer is meant to support the game when they get things wrong.
So I will ask again.
Whats your excuse Bungie?
Upvote this if you think that this community and this game deserves to be treated in a similar manner
EDIT: Over 650 upvotes and its not "trending" ..........hmmm.......how curious

Great post. Well said.

Bump.

Clearly, this is simply pointing out the fact that the programmers at Bioware are better, more talented, and have the direction and senior level project management in place to do it right and also still have flexibility to make adjustments as they encounter adversity. There is a reason why there is nothing to do right now in Destiny. It is a lack of direction and content. Some updates are good, but they are long overdue, or way to late. How in the world do the items in the tower sold by the vendors never -blam!-ing change? How in the -blam!- is there not additional vault space. Being able to switch weapons via the app is cool, but there is nothing to do in game for with max characters, so its to little to late. Which sux, because it has the best game play period. The grind is old.

Bump. This is on point. Bungie take notes
-
I mean, Dragon Age Inquisition is just a blast. And my doubts about the series after DA 2 were just shattered and replaced with a smile from ear to ear. An epic experience
-
Wake up bungie!
-
When Halo 5 comes out, will this still be a Destiny forum, or a Halo 5 forum? I'm wondering how great it'll be. I saw some gameplay of Halo 5 and it looked fun. Those new game types are cool too.

Who to blame? ACTIVISION OR BUNGIE? When was the last dragon age? Like 6 years ago?
-
I thought dying light was going to end destiny? Im waiting lol

Bump! Good post

Edited by NinjaGoogle: 2/26/2015 10:17:50 PMThis is a beautiful post. This should've been destiny/bungie's focus. Not dames of destiny...

You are the sh*t man. Keep goin
-
No way man, why would you play a game with dragons in it? Way too far fetched to believe in dragons. It's perfectly possible to believe that some day we might find a huge floating golf ball that makes it rain on Mars, then proceed to fight giant alien turtles and weak rusted terminators. That I can believe...
sarcasm.. Destiny is destiny, deal with it. Dev team keeps saying "hate us cause they ain't us
Edited by o0 eep 0o: 2/26/2015 6:48:23 AMTo be fair bungie has created three fps series, bioware has 5 very successful and in depth series focused on story telling. It's like comparing Stephen Hawking To Steve-o.

Its funny ya know? Gameinformer gave shadow of mordor game of the year because every game released in 2014 sucked horribly.
-
I actually really like what bungie is doing with the game...
-
Damn. I hate myself for not even buying it.
-
So, should I buy Dragon Age?
-
Bump. The mods are keeping it off trending btw.
-
Agreed. That is all.
