The purpose for this gun. Crota's End, phase 1.
Toland the shattered designed this gun after he went mad... As if he knew he was going to die at the hands of the hive. So he created a weapon for Guardians to find and use against them.
This weapon thirsts for wave after wave of Thrall. Get a team with this weapon upgraded to at least the string of curses, and you can calmly walk backwards and never reload your gun. (Have one guy face forward for rear spawning thrall).
It is an example of the wonderful back story of the game. Exotics are designed to fit a specific role. I am making it my mission to find the purpose, the lore, the spirit of these weapons.

Edited by TheWazookie: 4/6/2015 12:19:54 PMIce breaker and when it causes the explosion was meant for Crotas End pt 1. I got 969 kills in 1hour because I would turn and no scope, purposely die and repeat (15+ kills per mob of thralls that I blew up)

Purposely die... Lol that's great but your gun doesn't auto fill your mag with a headshot kill. I am talking about completing Crota pt 1, not pointlessly killing thrall and wasting an hour.

I was actually trying at parts but my friend kept dying and its a pain in the butt to try and solo. I was at the end and I was in position and realized i hadnt stepped onto the plate to create the bridge.

Actually after I had figured out that I didnt step on plate I purposely died. Its kinda hard to make it to the plate on weight 10 and no super to go invis.

... Same here although I wish they took the time to tell us in THE GAME so everyone can enjoy the backstory

They do tell you in the game. It's called grimoire.

Yeah but you can not access them within the game (too much effort for the average gamer)
