Fixing the Loot System: An Open Discussion

(I'm just going to brain dump here for a second. I know this post will not lead to meaningful change and I don't really care.) Issue: The current system for loot feels broken to players. Praying that RNG rolls in your favor is more frustrating than it is rewarding. Discussion: - Currently the entire loot system functions around RNG drop rates. Run the nightfall, pray what you want drops. Run the raid, cross your fingers you get lucky this time. Then you wake up on Friday to find out that Xur is selling the same items as last week. While I agree that the game does not need to be "dumbed down" to an extent that everyone can quickly obtain every item available, a few tweaks to the system would alleviate much of the frustration with the current system. Recommendation: - Increase strike difficulty to lvl 32 and have certain exotic item drop chance tied to specific bosses. Example: Mida, Plan C, Gjallarhorn have a 10% drop rate from lvl 32 Phogoth. All other exotics have a 3% chance. - Rework How Xur and strange coins work: COA1: XUR sells every item every week. Increase the amount of strange coins it takes to obtain an item. Have a RNG weapon and armor item sold on "sale" every week at half price. Example: primary weapons cost 60 strange coins. Secondary and heavy cost 50. Helms cost 50, chest/arms/legs 40. COA2: - Slightly increase cost of items but have him sell everything on a predictable rotating schedule. Ex: XUR brings each exotic item once every 4 weeks. Price is increased but you will know how much it costs and when he will bring it back. Issues: Increasing cost puts casual players with 1 toon at a major disadvantage. Possible work around is making strange coins tied to a specific toon or telling them tough luck, kill more internet monsters instead of spending time with your kids. Specific loot on bosses will increase people insta quitting random strikes. Place a 15 minute cooldown disabling random que when someone leaves the strike prior to completion. That is all for now. (In before replies: OP is an idiot, you misspelt that word, where did you learn to English bro?, Bungie doesn't care, Current loot system is fine stop crying Felicia, you are bad at the game, wtf is a COA?, why so srs all the time op?)
