Remember shows like "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Ren and Stimpy" that were suppose to be for kids but turned out to be some of the most controversial cartoons ever?
Cracked.com should give you some articles on them.
I mean seriously, one of the characters does phone sex, in other episodes it is filled with -blam!-[-blam!-] references, lots of violence and sometimes blood, testicle references, etc.
Posted by: Breathing Roses Kids never got it though. But then there's that whole psychology of growing up to become a teen parent and STD ridden hooker.
Yep, having innuendo in children's cartoons is what causes that. I blame Tex Avery, he is credited with starting that on the Looney Tunes. Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures and Freakazoid are definitely why I'm a sex fiend.

Darkwing Duck. He want's to 'get dangerous', clearly a bad message for children.
Posted by: Deadlights911
Posted by: Deadlights911 Guys, what's the Clockman??

An elaborate troll posted a thread about an old stop-motion cartoon he saw as a kid called "Clockman", and asked if anyone knew what he was talking about. Huge investigations and theories went on in that thread for months, and the OP just sat back and watched the magic happen.

Someone claimed to have seen an old cartoon short pulled from the air. Something creepy, if I remember right. Either way there was a thread made about it that reached the top forum topics on the right hand side and supposedly got some "universities" and other higher-end establishments involved in the search to find this creepy TV short. I believe it turned out to be a big troll attempt but I stopped paying attention after the 4th page or so. [Edited on 11.29.2012 9:13 PM PST]

It is. The Clockman. I am also unable to find the original clockman thread, I honestly thought I had saved it up until just now.
Posted by: NewRadical12 ATHF
That was amazing but never made for kids.

Squidbillies is way more odd / inappropriate for children. I mean, I know that Squidbillies and ATHF etc. are not really for children, but still... they're pretty [blam] weird.
-
A young me saw some cartoon rabbits on Loony Tunes commit suicide. It was somewhat disturbing.
-
Posted by: NewRadical12 ATHF
ATHF isn't a children's cartoon. It's on Adult Swim.
-
Oh god Ren and Stimpy. That was legit weird stuff.

My first thought was, "I don't think this is going to go where you want it to go." Either way, didn't Looney Tunes get pretty controversial in some episodes during WWII?

Southpark was controversial for a while.

SpongeBob. Krusty Krab in the bikini bottom? That sounds dirty.
