And this tweet
How do you think Bungie feels about their 'baby growing up' away from home and how the community will respond to both that and their new project? How do you feel about it?
It's kinda surreal and somber to me, but at the same time adventurous and excited.
Also just want to take this time to apologize for doubting you guys. You've made ridiculously awesome games that have been part of many lives for many years. <3 bungie.
Posted by: Apocalypse I took the first tweet as Bungie "calling out/talking -blam!-" to 343.
I don't understand how you took this from the first tweet. I just pictured obamanotbad.jpg and a simple congratulations. But I did feel a little disheartened after reading that.
Posted by: ctjl96 Or maybe they don't really care. They had their fun, now they're working on something new. I don't get why everyone feels Bungie's sad about what happened. It's just a game series that they worked hard on; the way they're conducting themselves now, their new game should be just as badass. Hell, maybe they're even thankful that Halo's actually being continued at all, as opposed to being cut off at Reach.
This sums up my thoughts exactly. Bungie isn't a single entity. I'm sure that maybe a few people in the company were disappointed about not working on Halo anymore, but "sad" just seems like a blatant exaggeration. Even more so considering that they're working on an entire new IP now which gives them the freedom to do basically whatever they want.

Halo was their child, and it's all grown up now, ready to take on new challenges. (Urk or DeeJ said something like this before but I can't find the blog post)
Posted by: Verachi I don't know why but watching that Halo 2 footage made me very exited for Destiny.
It's the passion they have.

"We're busting our asses trying to win you back" We've never left you. I love Bungie.

Their baby left home and became a homeless drug addict. They should be sad [Edited on 10.05.2012 4:07 PM PDT]

They're all like: -Son, you have now become a man and its time for you to make a decision. You can go join the army, go the college or go get a job but the keyword is GO.

Shed no tear brother.

Lehto... :((((((((((

Whats truely sad is that they had a few autistic babys before their prodigal child. No one feels sad for the older whipping kids that are chained in the bowels of bungies basement. Nice alliteration....

I feel excited for what's down the road. The halo series will continue to evolve and Bungie will continue on their new and exciting project(s).
Posted by: AH4L It's got to be hard for them. Sure, publicly there's "no hard feelings" and all, but... Halo really was their baby, and no matter what anyone says, it has got to be difficult to watch another developer continue your legend.
I'm excited for Bungie, but sad for them too. They created a beautiful monster, that literally revoluionised first person shooters, console gaming and what multiplayer could be like. I nostalgia hard playing the games. I was 18 when Halo CE came out. Damn, best years of my life playing Halo 2 with Bro's at University.
Posted by: Duardo Probably the same way parents feel about their kids moving out if the house. They know it's for the best, but it's still really sad. Now that kid is married and is starting a family soon, so the parents will have fond memories of when their kid was with them, and they're looking forward to seeing their future grandchildren.
But then they make some more!

Just spent the last hr watching old videos from H CE up to Reach. Man, those were good times. Think I'll stick around for some more coming soon.

Seriously, bungie's done so much good, and Halo's just one part of their history. I'm more excited to see what new stories and adventure's they're going to add to their consistently excellent (a quality not all too common among game developers) library than sad to see them let Halo go.
