I have a really good feeling about this game. I like the fact that it's a small time developer, trying to make it's mark with a groundbreaking game, before they go hollywood once they make it big. You know, like all the others.
My hopes are high, for No Man's Sky. Hey! That rhymed, ok, back to football.

Edited by MR E0S: 1/21/2015 1:12:35 AMYou want my honest opinion. I don't dig sandboxes with open ended objectives (Create your own objectives). I usually just mess around for like 15 minutes and fall asleep when trying to play something like Minecraft. I need objectives, I need story. No Man's Sky... is the perfect candidate for making a Star Gate Game. That's what I see of it. As it stands, I know nothing about what they plan to do with "story" as it is. So I can't decide... But if I saw this footage with the Star Gate name on it. I would definitely be a little more excited because it would help to convince me that there is going to be stuff to do other than just wander around and maybe do a bit of crafting. I'm talking about, and overarching quest to kill an enemy like the Goa'uld, or dealing with a replicator threat. IE. Look at games like SPAZ or Space Rangers, to get an idea of what I mean.. when I say building a game around an antagonist that resembles a zombie outbreak / Terminators or something similar. TL:DR Flying from space to the surface of a planet might be cool the first couple of times.... But how long do you think a game can last off of that experience? Are these developers going to allow the community to create their own creatures, plants.... content to keep things fresh. Or are we limited to the developer providing all the art to fill this world? Imagine Spore and the way community created creatures fill other peoples worlds... Are they going to do something like that?
