Nope.

Everything in Crota's End is about speed (or almost everything), so patience and time has a couple problems right off the bat; camo is slow, and its impact is low, so it requires more shots to kill than an LDR or the IB sniper. It also prevents you from using gjallarhorn and black hammer, which are respectively the best burst damage and the best sustained damage weapons in the game. Knights may get arc shields, but snipers are poorly suited to dropping shields compared to other options- you can't crit against a shield, and snipers rely on crits. On top of that, the knight shields constitute only a fraction of their total hit pool, so it makes more sense to drop it with a couple primary shots and follow with one or two devastating black hammer hits.

I imagine the hard mode will only add certain mechanics, such as each person can only pick up the sword once in the Crota battle, making it so everyone needs to be able to use the relic... We know how Bungie likes everyone to perform all roles from VoG changes.

Knights only have shields with the Epic modifier. Based off previous content, Crotas End Hard Mode might only have the Heroic modifier so I do not think Knights will have shields. Patience and Time is still a good sniper though.
