PULSE RIFLE ARCHETYPE BUFF

Two weeks ago, I was very fortunate to be awarded with Bad Seed Down upon completing the nightfall. This Vanguard pulse rifle--while a decent weapon--I have found to be quite a hassle to use, especially in PvP combat. However, the problem lies not with this particular weapon, but with pulse rifles in general. I've composed a small list of everything that I have found to be dragging this entire archetype down. Pulse Rifles Lack Impact The main drawback of using a pulse rifle is the extreme lack of impact that these weapons possess. Just think about it like this: Pulse rifles are supposed to be a hybrid of scout and pulse rifles. To me, this just doesn't seem to be the case. The pulse rifle archetype blends the medium range and low impact of Auto Rifles with the fire rate and recoil of a scout rifle. If they're going to keep the same rate of fire and recoil as a scout rifle, then each complete burst should have just as much total impact as a single scout rifle bullet. Not to say that these weapons should be a lot like scout rifles, but they definitely need an impact buff. Pulse Rifles Shoot Slowly Slightly subordinate to the glaring lack of damage dealt by Pulse Rifles is the rate of fire of many of these weapons. My personal suggestion to fix this issue is to increase the rate of fire of each burst. Basically, make bursts shorter without dropping any bullets off. Also, the general unresponsiveness of the archetype greatly contributes to this issue. A possible answer to this problem could be to give pulse rifles a hair trigger so that the player feels as though the weapon is firing in time with trigger pulls. In general, Pulse Rifles need a buff in order to be worth the grind to upgrade them. Be it this way or another, I'm stowing away my pulse rifles until they are formidable enough to face Crota, Atheon, or a n00b. Thank you guys for your time. Per Audacia Ad Astra ,my friends. ~Area51guy

Pulse Rifles have been weak since beta. The better Pulse Rifles that you can use are blue weapons, which means they're only purpose would be for the Crucible. Echo 3-3 and Dead Air are the only blue quality pulse rifles I've seen that have a nice impact rating, but a slow rate of fire, it's rof is slow enough that they'res virtually no recoil. They're both really fun to use in the Crucible. You can still find them through engrams too since all the blue vanilla Destiny weapons are still here along with the new ones. It's too bad that Echo 3-3 and Dead Air weren't legendaries, they would've been top choices. Echo 3-3 in particular would've made a good legendary since it's got some nice lore behind it like Shadow Price.
