Any and all news will be posted whenever it comes up, and i will say so in the subject heading, with the appropriate page number and date. Chapters are generally posted weekly, though i discuss each chapter's release date beforehand so confusion does not ensue. If anyone knows anything about the Halo 2 book, or what comes after it, let me know. Cause if nothing's happening with it, im gonna write it. Here's the prelude to halo 3(?)... Prologue Ninth Age of Reclamation/First age of Rebirth Yielding Righteousness/ Current Flagship The doors opened as the Arbiter walked into the Grand Chamber, seeing rows of his brethren. His Sangheili. They all uniformly bowed down on one knee, their heads to facing the ground. The Arbiter turned to his Spec-ops captain, now the general of the armies, and said, “You never told me there would be this many.” “I thought you would like being surprised, Arbiter.” He showed a grin, at least as best a Sangheili could. They started walking through the main aisle, with an honor guard walking behind them as protection. The Arbiter felt that the presence of the honor guards was not necessary, but understood the honor they must feel to be here, especially now. Walking past each new row allowed all to stand in that row, which alerted the Arbiter of some discrepancy. He turned his head left, and saw several rows of Lekgolo, their massive bodies gracefully rising as he passed. And further ahead, even more rows were filled with the small Unggoy, who fidgeted even while trying to keep their composer. And they all were bowing. He looked back at the Lekgolo, shocked at the amount of them in one room. He had never seen so many, and they could easily overpower the entire ship if they wanted to, but they also didn’t carry their normal weaponry, which attached directly to their arms. The Arbiter forced himself to look away so not to draw attention to himself in any negative aspect, for it could ruin his purpose here today. They climbed the ramp up to the stage, where the honor guard behind them went to the right side of him, and to the left he saw another waiting for his arrival. The Arbiter went to the front of the stage, and the Captain/General stayed behind several steps. He looked upon the crowd, understanding that the future may rest upon their shoulders. The chamber had fallen dead silent now, and the Arbiter scanned the room once more. He stood tall and came to the very edge of the stage. “As you all know, I am the Arbiter. I have been chosen for this… this honor, by our previous leaders. However, there may be those among you who believe that their word is heresy, regardless of when it was said. And because of my rank, my position, I will become the leader of our group, our new covenant. If anyone disagrees with my appointment as the Arbiter, speak now.” The chamber stayed noiseless, but faces animated and expressions came to color. The Arbiter looked back to his Captain/General, who nodded to him. Suddenly, one Sangheili stepped out of his row, and yelled, “Long live the Arbiter!” As the Arbiter turned back to his audience, he found that he was deafened by the cheering of his name. A wave of relief struck him, and he held his hands to show silence was required. Moments later, it was so. “You all honor me with this privilege, yet I must postpone our celebration for another time. This meeting is one of urgency, where three important things must be discussed. The first of which being the creating of a new Grand Council. After this meeting, all not stationed upon the Yielding Righteousness are to return to their home planets to decide on the council members.” “Our next goal will be to secure as many Huragok as possible. They are a necessity on every ship, world, and army. If we can take many away from the Prophets, it will give us a strategic advantage against them. They will undoubtedly be attempting the same, but we cannot allow them to take any Huragok, or the upper hand will be theirs. Do not forget their usefulness, even in the heat of battle.” The Arbiter sighed, and looked up at the lights, then directly into the holocron monitor, which was projecting his face among countless worlds. “The final article is something that has come into my thoughts several times during these past few days, something I would like express to you. The Prophets have always asked each race to join the covenant, or even allow them honorable submission, but not the Humans. These Humans are a strange race, yet nothing about them is notable in any sense with the exception to the demon. Regardless, it makes no sense for the Prophets to ‘fear’ these Humans. But I understand why they do. I have fought and killed them, as well as fought beside them as allies.” Whispers appeared throughout the room, and the Arbiter raised his voice to overrun them. “Wait!”, he yelled, and the chamber’s only sound was the Arbiter’s echoing voice. “Through my experience with these Humans, they fight with the same honor we would, use clever tactics as we do, and will die for victory if necessary. And now that we are not at the prophet’s side to protect them, they have much to fear of the Humans!” Cheers wailed throughout the room, and a group of Unggoy began jumping up and clapping. The Arbiter allowed the crowd to settle down by themselves before speaking again. “From now on, if you should see a Jiralhanae, Yanme, Kig-yar, or a Prophet, you are to conquer them, and show them who truly is strong.” He smiled as best a Sangheili could. “Even more so for the Kig-yar, if you know what I mean.” Laughter broke out, especially through the rows of Unggoy. The Arbiter walked off the stage, followed closely by both honor guards and his Captain/General. Suddenly the laughter turned to applause, as the Unggoy yelled, and the Lekgolo and Sangheili bowed again to one knee. The Unggoy followed suit quickly. With each passed row, the rising covenant would chant “Long live the Arbiter!” The Captain/General whispered gently to the Arbiter as they walked down the aisle, “ It would seen that you left a good impression with the covenant.” “No, we are not the Covenant anymore. We are the Preeminent." If you guys like this, let me know, I have about 10 more pages written, in no partucular order, and can post them if anyone wants to read them. [Edited on 12/17/2006]

 • ok, here is the secret black black project... remember that grunt in chapter 2, that Fred could have killed, but told the marines to take over to R&D? well, this is his story. i've been working on it the last couple of days, as it has been taking a hell of a long time for me to find out whether i'm getting published or not. and chances are i won't find out for at least another week, so i plan on working as much on this as possible, even though i have 2 tests next week that i'll be studying for crazily. anyways, here is chapter 1 to the short and sweet saga of Kokoz, the grunt. BTW, i'm using a working title, so if someone comes up with a good one, let me know. Story of a lone Grunt The area held a dull green luminescence, reminiscent of sludge in every way. Kokoz was unperturbed as he opened his eyes slowly and rubbed them, clearing his vision. Moisture in the air helped his stressed muscles relaxed as the memory of his homeworld surrounded his being. The air was just as he remembered, and no airtank was necessary. No airtank meant no armor. No armor meant no clothes. Kokoz instantly became fully awake and covered his private parts, but saw no one around. A sigh of relief followed, and Kokoz looked around, yet saw nothing except for the seemingly dusty and humid air. Something did not feel right though. Picking himself off the ground, Kokoz started walking, but was abruptly stopped by some hard surface. He shivered as the wall touched his midsection. It was much cooler than the surrounding environment. Feeling it with his claws, it was very flat and smooth. A wall. Thinking about the situation, he realized the ground was also colder and not as rough as normal for his home planet. Kokoz walked in another direction and another wall kept him from proceeding further. The other directions did so as well. Reality struck Kokoz hard as his last memories came into focus. He was part of a boarding party…32 or 31, or maybe 23. His commanding officer had been barking orders all day that day, and he wished that they could just finish the stupid war before he died from it. That’s how it worked with his kind, and was even a proverb in some of their ancient texts before they were taken into the Covenant: “Life flows when battles are short, or when they do not happen at all. Either surrender or accept surrender, because life is short. There isn’t a need to make it shorter.” Returning to the memory, he was sitting next to two of his fellow Unngoy in the back of the boarding craft. A Kig-yar snarled at him when he nearly fell asleep during the flight, which was not enough time to finish with a food nipple. But thankfully, the stupid Kig-yar was punished for his impudence by the commanding Sangheili. Then a few orders were shouted out, a loud noise came and the boarding craft stopped suddenly, and they tore through the hull of whatever it was they were attacking. Kokoz didn’t know what it was they were attacking, because it wasn’t important for him to know. All of his orders were to simply follow the commands of his commander, which only said, “Prepare for the attack!” So he waited for it, and quivered in fear with the other two Unngoy. When they had fully penetrated the hull, it flung off and several unfortunate Unngoy in the front of the boarding craft came out first. The sound of weak Human weapons vibrated through Kokoz’ head, but his knowledge didn’t kill his fear. He saw other Unngoy, and even Sangheili die at the hands of the Humans, and the only thought through his mind was that today was his day. The others in front of him kept coming out, but just before it was his turn to leave, an explosion knocked him down hard. He let go of his gun and heard something snap in his leg. Only a moment later he felt a surge of pain and screamed as loud as he knew. Kokoz scampered a look to his left and right, but only saw the bodies of his fallen comrades, none of them moving. They left him for dead. And when a giant shadow loomed over him, it was the only thing worse than a Human that could kill him. It was the Demon. Story’s the others told said that if killed by the Demon, your soul would be devoured by it, and would never be released unless the Demon itself was killed. Other said the Demons were invincible, and could easily overtake an army of even the greatest of Sangheili. And some said that the touch of the Demon could kill. Kokoz didn’t want that to happen, but he didn’t have much of a choice either. So he did the only thing he could think of: reach for his gun. But the damned thing was too far, and a body lying on his leg wouldn’t let him budge. Then the Human’s language poured into him, but his excitement and the intense beating of his hearts kept him from hearing their words. But the Demon stepped away from the edge of the boarding craft, and another Human entered and carried him out. His consciousness faded shortly after. And now he was in some strange room that was misty like his home planet, with normal air and temperature. He began to quiver once more, and quickly ran to the closest corner and sat, shaking. “There’s no need to be afraid,” a strange voice said. In complete fear, Kokoz looked in every direction, making sharp turns with his head but not finding the voice’ source. But it was in his native tongue, and that alone managed to relax him just a bit. “Nobody is going to hurt you. We simply want to help you.” ‘H-h-help me h-how?” Kokoz muttered. “You can trust us. We wouldn’t have helped heal your wounds if we meant harm, would we?” “N-no, me guess not.” “That’s right.” The voice, wherever it was coming from, was very soft and soothing. Without meaning to or realizing it, his body began to loosen up, and he started listening more closely. “We want to bring you back to your…people. To your race.” “You mean you no Unngoy?” “No, I am an artificial intelligence program working for Humans. I’m here to help you situate yourself with the changes that have occurred over the last day.” Kokoz suddenly became extremely agitated, now knowing he was in the enemy’s hands, and that they could do whatever they wanted with him. And from the stories he heard about what Humans do with prisoners, it made the Demon look like a child’s toy. “Don’t worry, nobody will hurt you here. While you were asleep, a treaty with the Covenant has been made. We’re allies now.” The words hit Kokoz hard, but they were too distant, too unbelievable. “N-no, Humans evil. They no join Covenant.” “If you would like, I can show you a video of one of our leader’s signing a treaty with one of your leaders.” With that, the lights in the room dimmed, and one of the walls illuminated, showing a bald-headed Human and several Sangheili signing documents, which only made Kokoz’ eyes widen. “I’ve just released a gas that will make you fall asleep again. When you wake next, your leg will be fully healed, and you will find yourself in your armor and atmosphere suit. But be prepared for a fight, because we might find ourselves in one.” Just before he could protest, Kokoz’ legs became very weak, and he practically fell to the floor, clawing at the air. By the time he hit it, he was out cold and drooling on it.
