I think it goes without saying that there's a certain level of ambiguity to the story of destiny. It ranges anywhere from making no sense to having mass gaps, which can only be connected lightly through fan theory, speculation, and the grimoire. You may have just woken up from being dead for god knows how long in game, but everyone else has been alive for some time, it's strange no one tells you anything. Even so the grimoire section of the app/site, are only loosely connected story pieces. I loved this with darksouls, but there are so many names of historical figures, and events that go without explanation, it's sad to see all of that go to waste. If there is a warlock bond made in memory of a specific character, shouldn't we know who he/she is or what there purpose was in the history of the world we play in on the daily. Please give us some expanded universe lore, I'm sure others have wondered who these various named characters are, or what an Ahamakara is.
