what's wrong with RNG?
After months of playing destiny I still don't know why people don't like RNG?
Explain to me why you don't like it or why you do like it... I'm curious

Like Ph1l1pp said: RNG doesn't reward skill, it is just a dice roll. That is both its best feature, and worst failing. Best feature because everyone has equal chance at getting something (or nothing) Worst failing because there is no direct payoff for time spent. It boils down to this: RNG is equal, but it isn't strictly speaking, fair. And that is what bothers most people. I'm on the fence about it; I see its purpose, but don't always like it. Sucks doing activities and not getting anything at all.. .:( Still enjoy the game though :)

2 RepliesI've grinded for months to get fate bringer and the vex. Still don't have it. Seen a noob friend get both guns in the same raid, on his very first hard mode attempt! That's what's wrong with RnG. But I still like playing the game so I really can't complain

The lowest scoring person on a team can get given something as powerful as a gjallarhorn while the strongest is given a blue engram or nothing. Thus, all sense of competitiveness that drives people to play well is gone.

3 RepliesA person that carries a team or does a significant amount of damage to a boss can get nothing of value while someone that does not contribute to the team or is detrimental to the team can get showered with loot.

You do not need any skill, you just have to be lucky. I grinded for the last five weeks nightfalls and raids on both difficulties and did not got any exotic , this all just for hawkmoon. Level 28 friend gets Hawkmoon from first CE raid chest......
