I'm too old for this shit
I'm at lvl29 and have never done the VOG raid. The reason is I am 38 and don't want to try to make friends with kids. You need a matchmaking system for EVERYTHING. If you need me to wear a headset for the raid and talk to figure shit out, that's fine, but to wait around the tower and try to make "friends" is bullshit.......also, the elements in the game should be tradable both ways with the vendors......I WANT MY VANGUARD AND CRUCIBLE MARKS BACK!!!

Hey buddy. Come check out our clan. We're a bunch of older people who have jobs, wives, and kids and just want to get online for a few hours and have some fun. We raid whenever possible (once or twice a week usually). We'd be happy to bring you along. We're on xbox one.

1 ReplyEach time the Matchmaking topic comes up, you get all the comments against it. I still can't figure that out. If you have a big enough group of friends to run VOG or Crota without Matchmaking, why does it matter to you if I'd rather build a group of friends through in game Matchmaking (since this was supposed to be a social game) instead of trolling offnet hoping to meet people who might be on at the same time I am? It's like saying you meet women at laundromats, church and grocery stores and if I start an internet dating site, that you don't intend to use anyway, it will ruin the dating experience for guys who don't go to laundromats, church and grocery stores, because women who are on those sites aren't seriously looking for a relationship and drop off mid-mission. Why does it matter to you? My experience has been that I have better chance of getting on, meeting a team through Matchmaking and completing the mission. Why? Because they are there at the same time I am with the same goal in mind. My friends list consists mainly of people I have met through Matchmaking.

1 ReplyI am 49 and soloed most of the game young padawan...I ran the nightfalls with one other guy..every week..We decided to do the VOG 3 days before the new DLC..have done it twice since...it was Kaos but turned to be a blast..Take a break and come back...it's just a game...This is suppose to be a diversion not your life..

There is a website basically matchmaking it is Firetea.ms Go there and it shouldn't take you to find 5 other people more than 5 minutes. You can thank me after you have finished the vault of glass

We have a clan the francorchamps we are all a mature team that play strikes. raids. Have a laugh etc. We also have an american faction we play with as well. Your more then welcome to come join us. Most of us are all level 29-31. My psn is Venjex.

Hey man, I'm 20 years old and play with many people like you. We do raids and shit together. I recommend following clans so you can post in their news feed and find groups. It's what I do when I need players. :) When I got my ps4 I didn't have any destiny friends. All were on ps3. The destiny app changed that. :)

5 RepliesWell the alternative is to use the new chat feature and try to talk to people on the strike playlists. I met quite a few people that way and it's because of that I was able to screen who I was adding. If we jived, I'd just ask "Hey man mind if I add you? I'm trying to get enough good people together to run the raid." Throw in a comment with a built in compliment and there's no reason they should say no. If you're already running strikes, you're half way there. You don't have to build lifelong relationships and invite each other over for Christmas. I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but I did it out of necessity and managed to get a few groups together. I even got invites to raid from some of those people because they knew other people, too. It's networking. Good luck man. (I'm 33 with 2 kids. I get the pain, totally.)

People work different shifts and in different time zones or move to different countries. Doesn't mean they don't have friends.

1 ReplyI'm 32, my dad is 59. Neither of us care how old you are. The guy texts me a while back about how he was tea bagging a bunch of campers. And I quote "I proceeded to plop my nut$ on his rotting corpse after sticking him with my Nade". We all play "games" and we're all gamers. Admittedly, there's no age limit on stupidity. 18 or 80. You can still run into an ass-hat just as easily. Moral of the story: The social aspect of video games for the foreseeable future is going to continue to push cooperative play to a point where some ppl might become uncomfortable. Take that in to consideration and wait to read a full review on a video game before buying it. It's just going to become more and more prevalent in gaming. No matter what you're age: either get with the times and join in on the fun; or find something else. You are spot on with the Marks and Mats exchange, though. I have 300 spin metal without ANY farming and I would shove bamboo shoots in my toe nails for some filaments. That needs to be fixed asap.

Im 15 and people i play with are 25-40 years old and they say that I'm probably the most mature out of everyone. Not all kids are annoying little shits. But i do see where you're coming coming from. Even i don't like people with people my age, they're just too annoying to play with sometimes.
