Why the -blam!- do I need the expansion to do the nightfall?????? It won't let me choose to do level 30 version without the dlc??? WHY THE -blam!- DO I NEED TO BUY CONTENT I HAD BEFORE
I see that they have the new strike as this weeks nightfall, why is there not an option to play one without the dlc?!? Who the -blam!- decided this was a good idea?!!!,!,!!,!!3!:&.891@2'wjdix

If your parents didn't pony up money for a field trip you just don't go to school that day. You don't bitch about it not being part of the curriculum.
-
I see a lot of people defending the lock out and saying that it should have been obvious that the nightfall would feature the new strike. Their arguments neglect that the PS exclusive strikes should also be in rotation by that same logic, and that the daily should have also been a DLC story mission. Xur should also sell ps exclusive exotics. If it's a PS exclusive then Xbox gets locked. Inconsistency is rampant here.

Edited by Rabel: 12/10/2014 6:38:20 PMAs someone that purchased the DLC, I do not agree the Weekly events should ever be locked out to those who haven't purchased it. It should not be chosen randomly or rotated every week. It is an unnecessary strategy to bully people into buying DLC. The weekly/daily activities should have only gained a new set of activities for DLC owners, with simple tracking to not allow DLC owners to run 2 activities per week. Everyone who purchased the game, DLC or not, should have the ability to run weekly activities each week, not just every other week. Being that this is launch week for the new Xur/exotic items, Bungie has effectively locked out non-DLC owners from earning strange coins and removing their chance of good nightfall drops. This is wrong

If you don't get the DLC, you can't access DLC areas. It's pretty simple actually. Crying to the forums won't help.
-
I completely agree with you. Bungie should have created a filter that toses non dlc players into the old material so that they could earn coins, exotic etc. Locking them out 20% of the time is just being mean spirited and punishing those who chose not to pick up the DLC. Bungies reluctance to comment on this topic is stunning.
-
Yeah i agree I bought the dlc so it didn't hurt me but it's not right to just -blam!- everyone else I feel for ya man
-
DLC content should have never been a weekly / Nightfall . that was a moronic move imo.

They are absolute -blam!-ers for doing this. This and the new exotic system is beyond reason to me right now. It's ruining my fun in the new dlc and on the forums now trying to make sense of the new armour and exotic system.
-
Its out of order, I think they should have 2 nightfalls (one normal and one for the dlc) double rewards for us who picked up the dlc
-
Folks are upset that they are losing content, as if being punished for not putting in more money. Some folks think that it is possible to fix this via separate Weekly and Nightfall stuff. Meaning to allow for non-dlc players to do some kind of weekly challenge. This is complicated. And further complicated by multiple DLC's, creating more combinations possible of this and that. (Unless the DLC's prerequisite the previous DLC's.) To provide for this, weekly and nightfall challenges would have to be different for all players in group A and group B. This almost works, until someone complains that Group A had a strike which is too hard/easy or gosh-knows-what-else. Further, as more DLC's are released, those players who have not continued to pour money into the game will cost more and more money to have their needs catered to at a potential loss to those who have paid for additional content. This would not make any sense at all. Your cheapest customers need the most, and your loyal repeated business suffers for it? NOPE. It all boils down to what I see as a situation poorly considered. Someone should have realized the commotion that would occur and solved this issue by CLEARLY STATING early on that Weekly and Nightfall challenges are only available to players with the latest DLC's, updates, and patches. Simply knowing it was coming would easily mitigate a lot of the unrest.

Every few weeks it will be unavailable for those without the dlc but that's only 1 week out of every 6 weeks

It's not fair, they took privileges/ content away and make you pay for them. I worked hard to gain rank now I fell it's pointless to upgrade the armor I've worked hard to get, it's hard to upgrade, who ever thought it was a good idea to go this should be fired. What happened to power of the players!

When the nightfall is a dlc strike, it won't be available if you don't have the dlc. What a crazy concept! Quit being stupid people.
-
I not gonna pre order bungie and Activision game again... don't even talk about Destiny 2, I not gonna buy that shit.
-
Yeah this is kinda BS for people that don't have the dlc
-
I honestly don't see you being locked out forever mite just be this week cause the ho in the tower next week I'm sure it will revert back to normal as long its not dlc related strike but I do feel ur pain it does suck even tho I have the dlc
-
It totally bull$#!& that is pure bull it's require for a $20.00 dlc so i can to play nightfall ?!

Edited by Luckdog26: 12/10/2014 12:32:49 AMBungie are catering to the part of the community that DID buy the DLC. If you decided not to, that is fine, but you have to realize that there is now two parts of the Destiny community, those WITH DLC, and those WITHOUT DLC. Bungie needs to cater to BOTH parts of the community, they cannot continue to ONLY support the non DLC users. Yes you can't do the Nightfall this week, but so far this is only going to be ONE week, since there is only ONE DLC strike included in the Nightfall playlist. Next week will be the Mars strike, so I hope you enjoy that, putting us back onto the original strikes. I know I probably won't do it, unless I want the EXP boost. You should be very thankful that Bungie are still providing the non DLC users with frequent updates and free content, you are now able to reach level 31, which means you will be able to do the VoG much much easier than before. This is not Bungie forcing people to buy the DLC, you can choose not to buy it, but there is consequences if you don't, that is the hard truth of a progressive game. If you choose not to buy the DLC, you will eventually be left behind, while the rest of the Destiny community evolves with the game. That is like someone who bought Vanilla WoW, complaining because of things caused by Warlords of Draenor.
-
Exactly! Screw you Bungie!
-
Bungie have invented a new concept. DLC that makes games smaller. DCR = Downloadable Content Remover, invented by Bungie 09-12-14. Lol.
-
I know right? I just started to be able to do the nightfall. I have the dlc, but it wont let me do it until i complete all eris's bounties. Its frusterating
-
I'm not opposed to it.. Keep in mind it changes weekly. You'll miss out this week and I agree that's silly. But you can't be expected to play the new content without having paid. Which by the way the new stuff is better than the original content. They are stepping in the right direction.
-
You dont have the strike that nightfall takes place on, that's why. Next week may be one you can play. What's the big deal?
