I can only speak for my friends and I but I find it a bit of a chore finding out my reputation levels with each faction and vendor with each individual character. I like to level all my factions up, each level up with each faction allows you to receive a package once levelled up which is great for me as all but the vanguard quartermaster vendor only trade in crucible marks and i have absolutely no interest in playing PVP i love PVE. Thats just me. As it stands you have to load up each character, head to the tower and run around between vendors to find out levels and progress to the next levels. I know it might seem trivial to do so but with doing so with 3 chars this takes a little time all just so i know which bond, mark or cloak to equip when grinding anything for xp. And before you reply with answers such as "go to the Bungie website to find out" or "use the app to find out"... These take time as not everyone's internet band with is that great and not everyone has a top of the range smart phone or tablet. My suggestion is in the inventory tab on each char you could create a div in the tab next to where the glimmer amount and vanguard/crucible marks are displayed. The values displayed when one visits a vendor could just as easily pulled through to the div containing an image in the inventory as suggested before. My only quarrel with the game is it seems to be leaned highly toward the crucible eg. more vendors using crucible currency and as of this far there has been more bounties and events all leaning towards the crucible and much more gear accessed more easily using crucible currency. I have accepted this, i love the game for what it is and love the PVE. I maintain the only way I will be able to obtain these crucible faction weapons and gear is by levelling up the factions and obtaining them from the packages they give. Just a small request to display the rep levels would be awesome and so so handy to be able to quickly pull up your inventory and go "Yup i need to level up such and such a faction"
