is a change to how fusion rifles work needed?

(to get to the main topic skip to paragraph 6) I've been playing destiny since the alpha and used almost all of the fusion rifles in the game from the fully automatic pocket infinity to the quick draw plan c and even most of the legendary fusion rifles. I feel fusion rifles are inherently don't match what they are supposed to be. Now you may ask what a fusion rifle is besides a multi beam laser and here is the underlying problem it does not fit in with the other weapons and I will give and example A rifle is a weapon that fires a single or multiple projectiles in succession A shotgun is a weapon that fires one shell that spreads into many projectiles Do you see the inherently flawed design in the weapon if not I will explain the fusion rifle is in the shotgun or cannon family because of the way it disperses rounds and the amount of ammunition it uses during those rounds being fired. A fusion rifle fires one charge/shell and this charge/shell unleashes more than one projectile at once this makes sense why people love using these in crucible as well as in pvp because the fusion rifle is not a rifle but a fusion cannon it becomes painstakingly obvious how to fix this so pvp people and pave people will still be able to use this weapon with out it becoming more of a problem than it already is. Instead of a charged line cannon make the projectile it shoots similar to the vault of glass shield super a single orb charged orb projectile not only will this add diversity to the weapons on the game but the possibility for exotic types of this gun are limit less for example Pocket infinity now fires multiple orbs Plan c now fires a quick firing and long range orb Exotic example 3 a large slow moving low damage orb is fired and causes splash element burn damage onto enemies Etcetera..... I'm open to more opinions on this and would enjoy a comment from deej if at all possible What do you guys think?
