After finally finding out where the hell Ness is from in smash bros, I kind of want to try it out but it soundsl like I would despise it. I ask the hordes of the internet to offer their input.

I wouldn't. Earthbound has a fantastic atmosphere from its characters to its music to the plot to everything else, but goddamn is it a chore to play. But if you really want to play it, I recommend emulating it just so you can have the fast forward button at your disposal.

Playing it with my room mate (he's playing, I'm watching). The first 3 hours were horribly unfair, stacked way against the player with enemies that deal 15+ damage and you have something like 60HP, and it's damn near impossible to avoid them. Good news is EXP carries over on death so we had to slog through several deaths and grind to level up until you get a second party member, who can be used as a damage soak at the least. After that the game is genuinely good, and well worth it. Good writing, good gameplay, and trippy as balls.

It's one of those games you either love or wonder why anyone would play it.

It's my favorite game, so yes.

It's a fun game but a really easy RPG game and doesn't require a lot of grinding.
