Here are some steps that allowed several players I know to have improved chat functionality and establish more reliable connections to groups in Destiny. One of my friends had a pop up when Destiny launched telling him he had a strict NAT even though his Xbox One showed Open, once he did this it stopped showing up. Let me know if it helps you please. From the Xbox One home screen go into games and apps. Select the Settings app Select the Network tile Select Advance settings Select DNS Settings Select Manual Input 8.8.8.8 as your Primary DNS Input 8.8.4.4. as your Secondary DNS Save changes After you see a confirmation that everything is good I have found it best to perform a hard reset. To perform a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on. The system will turn off. When you hit the button again, it will start and display the green start-up screen. 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. are Google's Public DNS servers, info. An important factor in selecting the right DNS is your latency to the servers (provided they are managed competently).
