Every game is better then destiny?
I'm sure at some point it was meant to be something more. But at some point it devolved into a cash-grabbing scam based on false advertising.
The thing that really disappoints me is that both Bungie, and the ***holes at Activision that Bungie was dumb enough to sign up with, KNEW what they were selling. They knew how it would be received.
Look at the way reviews were handled. There is no legitimate reason why they failed to make it possible for official reviewers to give day 1 reviews. Shadow of Mordor received official reviews days ago, because the devs know they have a good product.
I've traded in my copy of Destiny, but they already got my money. And I'm disappointed in myself for falling for it. I'm disappointed in myself for turning a blind eye to the glaring issues in the BETA.
But that's a whole other topic. Lets focus on the systematic campaign of deception that Bungie and Activision used to ensure that they met their sales goal for this over hyped disaster.
Step 1: do not allow official reviewers to play the game until after launch, And tell them that they have to play it for 10 hours before they see enough to give an official review, therefore ensuring that it takes at least 2 days for official reviews to come out.
Step 2: Release a public statement dismissing ALL day 1 user reviews as grossly inaccurate because "you have to play for around 10 hours to truly get a sense of the game."
Step 3: A few days later, release a NEW statement saying that "it becomes a whole different game when you've played for 20 hours." By the way, they werent lying. It is different. But it certainly isn't better.
I can't possibly be the only one baffled by the campaign of blatant stalling, to ensure that people didnt find out what they were buying until Activision already had our money. What happened to business ethics? Why havnt I seen anyone write an article about this? I can't possibly have been the only person who noticed.

Ever play Star Wars the force unleashed 2!!!!???? Probably the worst game I ever played. I remember being so excited for it. Everyone who played the first one was. They made one of the most memorable trailers for it and the 2 minute trailer is better than the game. the hype expectation and how good and fun the first one was, I was so disappointed in it. It makes me very sceptical about battlefront 3, despite its a different kind of Star Wars game.

The idea isn't completely original but the execution is done far better than any other attempt at an fps with mmo/rpg elements. The crucible is just as fun as any halo mp, for the most part. It could use a few more vehicles and maps, maybe even 1 or 2 more weapon types, but otherwise it's similar enough and plenty fun that those comparing the 2 should quit their bitching; they both are solid. That being said, the campaign also is really no shorter than that of a standard fps, and while replaying strikes etc. may be redundant, all the modifiers and difficulty changes that made halo replayable are still there. All in all. Destiny does everything the halo series and many other fps series do, but with far more incentive to do said things. Bungie created a smart system that encourages players to play both pvp and pve alike in order to create a hero of their own. The loot, especially higher end guns and gear, have some pretty unique qualities and overall give a great sense of satisfaction. There is even incentive to keep guns and gear of different types as they *actually* make a difference depending on the situation. There are clear distinctions between pve gear and pvp gear, as well as gear suites equally well for both. Furthermore, the ability to change gun stats on the fly as well as class spec add another layer of customization that actually is very useful for accomplishing various things. Combine a with b and c for x event. Combine a and d with g for this event. Yada yada it's far more than most online shooters do. Hell, even the classes start to show a defined and distinct purpose in the end game. The raids actually require coordination over headset (Iron Banner 2.0 as well for that matter), and a variety of classes makes accomplishing various goals that much easier. I mean... I can go on and on. The bottom line: Destiny offers plenty for the money you pay. The micro transactions and expansions etc. are nothing new--thus, people should stop bitching about paying for more content and stop expecting a game that will release free material for the games entire -blam!-ing lifespan (do any of you retards know the cost of making games? Not to mention the bandwidth cost to run the servers etc.?) Secondly... the game is NEW. There is far more content to come, much of which will be largely influenced by user feedback. Raids will become more complex, crucible will have more to offer, new items and gear will be made...probably even new classes, planets, and entirely new game types. The possibilities are endless. I personally give destiny a solid 9/10. Kudos Bungie for doing something unique. And one last thing, if we are going to compare apples and oranges, Destiny kicks the snot out of that piece of trash called Borderlands. I'm not even going to explain why cause if you have half a brain, you already know. Nonetheless, stop comparing the two. Just cause it has flying numbers doesn't mean it's the same. Stop comparing it to cod. Stop comparing it to halo. Stop comparing it everything. It all serves a different purpose. I play cod for the partially tactical and partially run and gun mp objective gameplay. Fatal frame doesn't do that though... NO EFFING SHIT SHERLOCK. Haters gonna hate. We can't stop that. But we certainly wish we could force super glue and broken glass sandwiches down your god damn throats throats in hopes that it goes down the wrong tube and comes out your big Jew noses. And by the way mr. Topic creator, can you please say the same exact thing in 20 other ways? The first 10 weren't enough. Thx.

I love the game but i will admit they did false advertise quite a bit, especialy with the free roam, they said most of the environment would be able to be explored, and all i saw were invisible walls and "turn back" notifications, that was my biggest dissapointment

One of the few reasons I stay around is so I can read all of the true posts like this that address destiny for the cash graving piece of crud it really is. Keep posting the truth my brothers and sisters, but be wary that the desticles do not overwhelm you.

Step 4: Don't buy games that are 1/4 completed at launch then the rest is sold to you via DLC over a time-span.

This is a very good post. It will be moved somewhere obscure as Bungie do not like free speech or the truth. (hence why I am banned). Do not feel bad, we all fell for it as we trusted Bungie's track record, at least we know for the future. My main concern is other gaming companies may try and copy these disgusting practices.

Destiny went from the next big thing to just a bridge/time waster until better titles started coming out in less than a week. It's served it's purpose, but it's only a mediocre game at best

It has no story telling except grimoire cards which has peaked my interest from another persons view but the gameplay I was hoping for a coop haloesque campaign but it is super repetitive the raid was unique and I would have loved it if you could change skulls for missions. I feel like they should have used the halo formula then try to make a terrible mo shooter. Also content removed and turned into dlc is the worst thing you could do especially if it's the price of a game

Dude activision is already bad to deal with. But bungie also died. Almost all original devs have left. And now that marty's gone they are just some new studio not worth the name bungie.
