Iron Banner 3.0 thoughts and suggestions

After playing iron banner for the first time (I didn't participate in the first because I didn't like signing in and seeing lvl 7's could beat lvl 29's or 30's with basic weaponry) I have gradually been filling in a suggestion list based on my experience. Here goes nothing: 1. Behind the scenes- level pairings- 20-26 only, 27-30 only. 2. Behind the scenes- Loot/reward drops- Increased chances of getting Iron Banner drops based on k/d spread. Get a 2.0? Times 2 chance. 3.0? Times 3. So on and so forth. 3. Update before tournament launch- Map control points- Balance of spawns away from each checkpoint in order to eliminate the status of "domination" so often AND to better promote map control for controlled spawns. 4. Player selection- Grenade cooldowns need to be faster and less damaging. It's a grenade. Not a nuke. Any grenade which has the potential to kill the same level instantly with a high defense rating and over 3/4 health undermines the reason why we have armor overall. It would also be nice if we could have some sort of option for a grenade dampener based on an armor slot perk. This would promote crucible armor versus pve armor. This also promotes going into the crucible more often with appropriate armor to counter other guardians capabilities. 5. Player selectable- Crucible matchmaking parameters- Find teammates based on team chat. The more choices we have to find players who want to make callouts and furthermore, enemy players with mics only increases competitiveness. 6. Decreased hand cannons damage over distance OR range- After testing out both the last word and thorn earlier in the week, I've concluded that the damage over distance makes this very difficult to justify since it has the exact precision and range of a fusion rifle at times. Either a decrease in its capabilities outside of exotic class or a reduction in damage for all classes is the best course of action based on the rapid fire function of each weapon and perks of Titans (my 29 currently helping a lot) to reload hand cannons REALLY quickly. Please note I did not test this on my 26 warlock since I didn't want to go into iron banner as a 26. 7. Iron banner bounties- Great on all except for auto rifle headshots. After much practice with this, I've almost perfected where each map allows an auto rifle to stand a chance against other weapons, however, getting to those areas and running the chance of not finding someone with a scout rifle has always presented a problem. Either change the bounty to scout rifles or decrease the amount for auto rifle headshot kills. Last thing to suggest on this is different weapon bounties. One day a primary weapon headshot kill, next day a special weapon kill, third day different primary headshot kill, fourth special weapon, blah blah blah. 8. Gametype addition- Clash would be nice to see besides playing control over and over and over. Makes the energizer bunny commercials come to mind.

 • Iron banner has one major issue that you did address. Control is a terrible competitive game type. Terrible. Terrible. Also hand cannons are fine. Want to nerf them, better nerf shot guns, fusion rifles, rocket launchers, heavy machine guns. At least with hand cannons you have to aim
