I've been thinking about this for a while now, but it wasn't until I sent some of my old Halo buddies a video of my victories in the Iron Banner that I was sure. PvP would be much better without exotic weapons. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't about getting owned by certain exotics. I'm tired of seeing guys sprint into a room and panic spray Invective and get a double kill. But I'm also saying this because of my own success. While I'm certainly not terrible, I'm not the greatest player in the world either, yet I'm able to have matches where I get a 29.0 K/D or ones where I get 40 kills. And it's all thanks to pocket infinity, a magic wand that I wave in the direction of players to make them go away. While it takes SOME skill to use, it certainly doesn't warrant the success I've been having with it. All my old Halo buddies made fun of my videos for using such an OP gun. It was mostly harmless teasing, but the fact that they all mentioned it says something. When they mentioned it my initial response was: "Hush, they've already nerfed it twice. Don't let them hear you". But here's the thing. I don't want you to nerf Pocket Infinity again. I don't want to see Invective get nerfed. I don't want to see them at all. Without exotic weapons, there would still be plenty of great and unique choices out there. With exotic weapons banned from the crucible, you could return the Vex Mythoclast and Pocket Infinity back to their former glory. You could buff Thorn and Bad Juju without worrying about the consequences to PvP. You could give use truly unique and powerful exotic weapons in the upcoming expansion . Just please keep them out of crucible. While some exotic weapon users might be getting the short end of the stick (sorry P+T users), I feel like that would make the majority of players a lot happier. Before I finish, I'd like to give props to all of you Guardians who kill me with legendary weapons in the Crucible. I applaud when I'm killed by The Devil You Know, Shadow Price, Vanquisher, Light/BEWARE, Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, The Calling, The Comedian, Wizard 77, Timur's Lash, and a special shout out to Strange Suspect (so nice to be killed by a fellow pulse rifler, most under-rated gun in the game) I honestly salute you guys. You guys are the true hero's of PvP. I'm REALLY, really sorry for using Pocket Infinity. But as long as people can bring exotic weapons into PvP I have to fight fire with fire. Hopefully one day we can meet on an even battlefield. Edit: Someone in the comments made the suggestion that there should be separate playlists: One that allows exotics and one that doesn't. I have to admit that would be a far, far better solution to then my proposal. You know, give us the choice Bungie.
