why nerf exotics?

Why to need exotics? They are supposed to be good and somewhat hard to get weapons that are above all other guns and whoever has them has an advantage. They're not just there to look cool and yellow in your inventory. That was the whole point of exotics, being unique and powerful, wasn't it? I know people complain, but once one person who gets their asses kicked in PvP gets all hurt and complains about an exotic , other similar people follow and whine like little kids, as developers have to respond. If people are complaining cause they get killed too much by exotics, then make the guns harder to get, don't nerf the supposed to be "best guns" in the game

  • I agree somewhat, but the thing is, they're not unique, or hard to get, thanks to Xur. So now they must be balanced with legendaries because they're so easy to get. I wouldn't see a need to nerf them if they were rare, but unfortunately, they aren't.

      • In my best guess I'd say the exotic stat changes accidentally got added into the master update/patch file. This is probably because they are testing and tweaking things in a private test realm for Bungie internal. If my thinking is correct it mean that at least they test this stuff before throwing it out into a patch. Which would explain why they take so long for all these changes. But those are just my thoughts based on my game development experience.

      • It was an "accident", "not intentional".. ironically this accident happened right before Iron Banner. Go fig.
