The Speaker is not who you think he is!
Does anyone think that the traveler is not who he really is. He sounds really cheesy. I think he is like a secret agent working for the darkness to help destroy the last city on earth at the right time! Anyone agree?

I believe the grimoire cards allude to the traveller actually wanting to run away when the darkness came. He was going to just leave us behind but the warming Rasputin predicted his behavior and fired a weapon that damaged it. Since it was so damaged, the traveller was forced to stay behind and defend itself side by side with earth.

It is believed the traveller has always been fighting his enemy, the darkness. H e needed an army in order to survive so he used us to save himself, his motives were entirely selfish.
