Halo: Civil War (fan fic) chapters 1-9

Here is my fan fic that I have done so far. It's called Halo: Civil War. I'm going to link it to the Flood Library soon. I hope you like it. And yes, it is a lot of reading. Just a little warning. Chapter 1 Delta squad was running down an empty street. Military planet Shiren had been attacked by rebel Spartans. A wave of blue armored Mark VII wearing Spartans had destroyed their manufacturing plant. It had been a great loss for the UNSC. They turned a corner and kept running. “Alex, Beta's distress signal is getting closer. Five kilometers away at the most,” said a Spartan named Lexi. Delta's red armor gleamed in the sunlight as they picked up their pace and headed for Beta's distress signal. Alex rose his hand and made a fist. He pointed to two Spartans named Justin and Kieth and then pointed to a small building. They nodded and sprinted inside the building up to the second story. He pointed to Lexi then to an overturned car. Then to another Spartan named Megan, then to himself, and then to a large dumpster. They left for their designated locations. “Alex, I see ten rebels coming our way about two blocks down.” Justin's voice sounded over the COM channel in Alex's helmet. He winked a green light and over the COM, told him to fire when ready. A little while later, a shot was heard, and two rebels fell to the ground. “Jesus, he got two with one shot,” Megan whispered. Two more shots came and two more rebels dropped to the cement ground, dead. The rebels began to fire blindly into the surrounding buildings. Alex and Megan stood up and killed three of them with their battle rifles. Three rebels were left, and Lexi tossed a grenade from behind her cover. It bounced by their feet and exploded. They screamed in pain, doubled over and died. “Regroup.” Alex said over the COM channel. The five Delta squad Spartans met together and resumed their mission to rescue Beta squad. In the distance they could see Beta squad. It was a particularly larger squad than Delta. “Beta wasn't kidding when they said they were under heavy fire,” Kieth joked as he pulled out his battle rifle and shot a rebel in the side of the head. They took cover and fired at the rebels. “Boy are we glad to see you guys,” a Beta Spartan said as Alex knelt behind a wall. “Report. Who is in charge here? How many killed and wounded?”asked Alex. “Mark Lentre, Spartan-225. Your in charge now. Six wounded and twelve killed,” Mark replied. “Laser charging! Clear the area!” shouted a Beta Spartan with a huge laser mounted on his shoulder. The laser fired and hit three rebels in the chest. They were knocked back ten meters and were killed instantly. “Area secure!” shouted the Spartan. “A few Spartans let out victory cries and Alex contacted Command to report that the mission was a success. “Command, this is Delta. We have linked up with Beta squad. The area is secure. Get us the hell out of here.” “Roger that Delta. Evac in eight minutes.” “Thank you. We might not have made it out of here alive if you hadn't shown up. I guess that's what you should expect from a Omega Spartan,” said Mark. “Spartan rank has nothing to do with it. We were just making sure that our comrades made it out safely,” Alex said. The Spartan ranking system was started because of the four hundred Spartan IVs leaving to join the rebels. The Spartan V program had accepted candidates from the ages six to fourteen out of desperation. The lowest rank was called an Athen, the middle rank was a Hades, and the highest was an Omega. Mark sighed. “I've been a Hades for a while now. I can't wait until I rank up to an Omega.” The ship Kilo had sent arrived and the Spartans boarded. Alex looked out the window and the whole city erupted into flames and a shockwave sent the standing building crashing down. “What the hell happened?” shouted Megan. “The rebels must have planted a nuke in the city,” the pilot shouted back. “Theres nothing more we can do. Pilot, take us to the Sigma Octanus Orbital Space Station,” Alex said. “Aye, sir,” the pilot said. The ship began to fly away when the pilot shouted, “Brace for impact! Incoming missile on our tail!” Chapter 2 Alex woke up three days later in the hospital wing. His arm was suspended in the air with a cast around it. He turned his head and saw Lexi sitting in a chair next to him. “You’re awake,” she said with relief. “What happened?” he asked her. “The pelican went down. We got hit with something, and when we crashed you were injured pretty badly,” she said. “What about the others?” Alex asked trying to sit up. “ Beta made it out alright. The gel layer took most of the shock. But, Keith didn’t make it,” her voice lowered. “He was the only one.” The nurse walked into the room. “Finally!” she exclaimed. “I would never have thought that a Spartan could be unconscious for so long. You people really are amazing. Most people would have had this cast on for a minimum of four weeks. You get it off today,” she said smiling. “How long was I out?” asked Alex. “Three days,” she answered reaching for a saw to cut off the cast. “Alright, this saw can’t cut skin. It only cuts the material we use for the cast,” the nurse said and turned on the saw. “That is the worst lie I have ever heard,” Alex said frowning. The nurse couldn’t help but utter a small laugh. She cut the cast with two cuts along each side, then she used a pair of pliers to pry it open. After she cut the fabric and gauze she pulled the pieces of the cast off his arm. “Try not to use your wrist too much today,” she said knowing that he probably had no choice but to use it anyway. She put a splint around his arm. “You can take this off to shower, but for everything else, keep it on. You only have to wear this for two days, but if it still bothers you not to have it, keep it on for more,” the nurse said. Alex nodded, and him and Lexi left the hospital wing. “Are you hungry?” Lexi asked Alex. “Yes, I haven’t eaten in a few days,” he said. “There is a town nearby. We have full access to this planet at the moment. We can go there and get some food.” she said. “What planet are we on?” Alex asked looking around. “We are on the trading planet Novon Pegasi Alpha,” she replied. Lexi drove the warthog through a large gate and could see the town. She pulled into a restaurant, and noticed some people arguing. She got out and Alex followed. “Is there something wrong?” she asked. “Yeah, we don’t allow this kind of alien in our restaurant,” one of them said pointing to a large alien with a hunched back and a large head with four rows of sharp teeth. “The war has been over for fifty years now, human. I have no quarrel with you yet. I am meeting someone in there for business. Let me in,” the alien said. “Wow, you were a Covenant Elite weren’t you?” Lexi asked. “My time for the military is served, but I was once blinded by the prophet’s words. The brutes took over, and we were forced to leave the Covenant,” said the Elite. “You are not coming inside my restaurant!” shouted the owner. A huge ship filled the sky. It was the largest ship Alex had ever seen. It was blue and purple. The metallic skin waved up and down. Large cannons were placed on each side of the ship. A smaller ship roughly the size of a pelican flew down to the planet below. “N’ Thar.” said an Elite stepping out from the ship. “What are you doing here?” N’ Thar asked. “You were taking a while. I decided to come and back you up,” replied the second Elite. “You are not even supposed to be on this mission, S’ Ren,” N’ Thar said clicking his jaws. “You always have been ignorant,” the Elite said. “And you don’t know when to stay out of someone else’s business,” N’ Thar said straightening. “What is the matter?” he asked. S’ Ren was looking at the huge ship. It was exploding from the inside. “Damn, this isn’t going to be good,” Lexi said. The ship started to fall toward the planet. “Everyone get down!” Alex shouted. The ship collided with planet and exploded. The explosion of the collision was deafening. The smell of smoke and blood was everywhere. The building next to the two Spartans and Elites had been leveled to the ground. Alex wondered if he was dead. Probably. Nobody could live through that; even with his LW MJOLNIR armor. He had not been wearing it at the time. He was surely dead. Something grabbed him. It felt like a hand, but it was gigantic. It felt like it was three times the size of a human hand. As he was pulled up he saw the face of the Elite, S’ Ren. The Elite pulled his arm back and swung a devastating strike to Alex’s face. He felt his nose break. Alex didn’t even need to think before he started to fight back. Instinct told him that he was in danger, but even through all that, he felt nauseous, and his arm had broken again. He kicked the alien in the ribs as hard as he could and heard a crack. S’ Ren stumbled backward and grunted holding his broken ribs. From Alex’s boot he pulled out a large knife. “You think that will stop me?” S’ Ren said with a smile. He lifted something up and two blue and purple energy blades ignited from it. Then there was a gun shot. S’ Ren fell to the ground with a bullet wound in his back. “You didn’t forget about me, did you?” Lexi asked. She fell to her knees and Alex rushed over and lifted her up. “We have to get out of here,” he said. “What the hell is going on here?” she asked. “I’m not sure,” Alex replied and put her arm around his neck. She had a blood stain on her side. Alex wondered if it was serious. (continued in next post) [Edited on 04.02.2008 7:30 PM PDT]

  • Chapter 8 Megan clutched her side. She had been impaled by an Elite's energy sword. Blood dripped from her side and mixed with the armor's gel layer. “Is it bad?” she asked as Justin was checking the wound. He sighed. “It isn't good. The bio-foam might hold for a while, but it looks pretty serious. Megan tried to stand up but fell back down and winced in pain. “I can't move. If you guys keep going, you might be able to link up with Sigma. I'll stay back and hold anyone off if they come this way. “No, we can't leave you here,” Justin said. “I'll carry you or something, but I'm not going to leave you behind.” Lexi smiled and walked over to Alex. “He's a softy for her,” she said. “Yeah. Chances are, he is going to stay with her if we leave,” Alex replied. “You know we can't continue unless we leave her, don't you?” Alex asked. “Yeah,” she said. Her smiled faded. “Justin's going to fall apart,” she said. “Is there no other choice?” she asked turning to him. Alex shook his head. “None.” Alex walked over to Megan and Justin. “Megan, you know what must be done?” he asked her. She nodded. Alex nodded back and turned to Justin. He pulled his arm back and thrust it forward as hard as he could, knocking Justin out. Alex picked him up and put him over his shoulder. He tossed Megan a few extra clips of ammo. “When we complete the mission, I'll open a COM channel to you. If you are still okay, we'll come and get you,” Alex said. A green light flashed on Alex's HUD. “Be careful. I'll try my best to keep the rebels off of you.” Lexi said over the COM. It snapped off and Megan shouldered her rifle. “We have to go,” Lexi said. Alex and Lexi left, Justin on Alex's shoulder. “Remember when we first joined the Spartan program?” Lexi asked. “They took us both from our school when we were twelve years old.” “What about it?” Alex asked. “We should never have been here in the first place. They said they they usually took candidates when they were six years old. They had to take candidates between the ages of six and fourteen out of desperation. They only had to do this because the rebels had the technology to start more Spartan programs,” Lexi said. “You're right, but if we hadn't joined the program, we would have never been able to do the things we do. We would end up being a marine or ODST,” Alex replied. The bushed in front of them parted and a Spartan came out. “Alex, thank God it's you. Kilo, Beta, Alpha, they're all gone. The Elite's have a new weapon. I have no idea what the hell hit us, but I'm the only one left,” the Spartan said. Alex looked at his number, 632. “Gabe? What happened?” Alex asked. Gabe pulled his helmet off and sat down. Blood streaked from his mouth, nose, and forehead. “My squad and Kilo went to help Beta. When we got them out of danger and cleared the area, we were supposed to capture an Elite flagship. After we got there, the ship covered itself in something. It was surrounded by blinding light and the light started to get bigger. The next thing I remember was flying through the air. I went back to find my squad, but the ship, and all of them were gone,” he said. Lexi pushed him back a little to make him lie down. She looked at Alex. She could tell he was worried.“Go get Megan and call for evac. We can't continue anymore,” she said. Chapter 9 “Hey Gabe, Alex, you want to play tag?” Lexi asked. “Your fourteen now. Don't you want to do anything that isn't for little kids?” Gabe asked. “We can go ride our bikes to the park and play some ball,” Alex suggested. “Okay, I'll go get my mitt,” Lexi said. She ran back into the house to grab her baseball mitt. “She's pretty cute. You gonna ask her out?” Gabe asked turning to Alex. “What do you mean?” Alex asked him. “Don't play dumb. I can see the way you look at her,” the grin on Gabe's face grew larger, “You're in love, huh?” Alex turned red and was going to say something back, but Lexi ran back to them. “Let's go,” she said. The three of them got their bikes and peddled off to the park. “Look at that big truck. It has guns all over it,” Gabe said pointing to a large green and back truck driving toward them. It stopped in front of them and two people holding guns stepped out. “You're coming with us,” one of them said. “Like hell we are!” Gabe shouted. The second soldier raised his rifle and shot a three round burst into Gabe's chest. He fell to the ground. “Don't worry, little ones. They are only stun rounds,” the first soldier said. “Now, be good little kids and get in the truck,” the other one said with his rifle pointed at Alex. “Lexi, run!” Alex shouted. Lexi began to run away, but the soldier caught her in the back with the stun rounds. Alex went after to catch her, but he was hit in the back of the head with the butt of the rifle. They woke up inside the truck. Lexi looked around and saw all of the kids from her birthday party. What happed? Why had the been kidnapped? She looked at Alex. He was wearing a weird suit. She looked at everyone else. They were also wearing the suit. They hadn't been wearing it a minute ago. What was going on? She soon realized that she was also wearing the suit. She again looked up at her friends from the party. Many of them began to fade. Soon all that was left were her friends Justin, Gabe, Alex, and the new girl from school, Megan. They changed though. Megan looked as if she was twenty years old. Alex, Gabe and Justin looked as if they had aged also. Alex had a scar on his left cheek. He turned to her and said, “Lexi, you ready for the mission? You don't look so good. Your biomonitor shows that you are in shock. Take an adrenaline pill. Maybe that will help for a while. The truck stopped and burst into flames. They were flying through the air. When they landed, Lexi was tossed from the truck. She heard shouts of pain from Alex, Justin, Gabe, and Megan. “Lexi, get us out of here!” They shouted. “We're going to die in here. Get us out!” Lexi fell to her knees and put her face in her hands. “This can't be happening!” she shouted. “This can't be happening!” “Lexi, wake up!” Alex said shaking her sleeping body. “Wake up!” he demanded. She opened her eyes and sat up. Cold sweat ran down her face. “You were dreaming. It's alright now,” Alex said. Lexi put her arms around him. “It was from when we were kids. We were taken away, and you were all killed. I couldn't do anything,” she cried. “It's okay. I'm alright. We're all alright,” he said. He gently laid her back down into the bed. He leaned over and kissed her. Lexi felt her face turn red. “I won't let anything happen to you, or anyone else here,” he said. “Now go back to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow.” Alex turned the light off and left. Lexi stared at the ceiling. She would hold him to those words. A few minutes later, she fell asleep. Well, that was it so far. I hope you like it. [Edited on 04.02.2008 7:39 PM PDT]

  • Chapter 6 “Get your heads down now!” Mark shouted as he dove for cover. The wave of plasma from the Elite’s wraith tank washed over them. It burned through the wall behind them and shook the ground as it hit. “Blue-two get your ass over there with that laser and take out that wraith,” Mark said thrusting a laser cannon into the arms of the nearest Spartan. Blue-two sprinted over to a turned over warthog and aimed. The circle in his HUD flashed red letting him know that he had a clear shot. He charged the laser and fired. The wraith shot purple and blue sparks and then exploded. “Enemy wraith down,” Blue-two said. He turned around and was punched in the face by an Elite. His helmet visor crack and his HUD went offline. He pulled out his pistol and shot at the Elite, but it had no effect on its energy shields. The Elite pulled out an energy sword, bellowed a cry, and stabbed Blue-two in the chest. Blue-two fell to his knees and then to his side, dead. “No!” Blue-six shouted as she pulled out her assault rifle. She fired half a clip before the Elite’s shields went out, then shot it twelve more times in the chest. The Elite yelled in pain and fell to its back. “Incoming banshees!” Mark shouted. “We need to fall back.” Blue-six grabbed the laser that Blue-two had. She aimed at the banshee, charged, and fired. The banshee exploded, but nine more were heading straight toward her. She charged again and fired at the nearest one. The laser clipped the banshee’s wing and sent it spinning off for two kilometers when it finally collided into the ground. The banshees were in firing range. They fired a salvo of super-heated plasma at Blue-six. She took four shots to the stomach and chest, two to her left leg, and six to the head. The plasma burnt through her shields and melted the LW MJOLNIR armor away. She dropped down. “Command, this is Spartan-592, verification code, Delta X 53 Omega, please respond,” a Spartan named Chris said into the COM channel. “Verification confirmed, 592. What is your situation?” “We’re taking heavy fire. Spartans 571, 316, 774, and 493 have been killed. Requesting reinforcements ASAP if we are going to complete this mission,” Chris shouted into the COM. “Request granted 592. Alpha squad Omega, and Kilo squad Hades coming to your location in six minutes.” “Understood Command. Spartan-592 out,” Chris said, and the COM snapped off. “Blue-leader, what are our orders?” Chris asked Mark. “Take Blue-three up to that hill and get that AA cannon online. We need to take out those banshees,” Mark said. He primed a grenade and tossed it from his cover. He heard a dull thump as it exploded and killed two Elites. “Yes, sir. Blue-three, come with me. We have to get that AA cannon online now,” Chris shouted and sprinted off to the hill where the cannon rested. Mark looked to his left and saw another wraith coming toward his location. “Go! Enemy wraith coming in!” Mark shouted. He got up, turned around, and just as he was about to dive out of the wraith’s path, he saw a pelican fire a salvo of missiles at the tank. “Sorry it took us so long, but we got wrong directions from that trucker at the gas station,” one of the Alpha squad Spartans said. “Kilo take out those banshees.” “Thank God you guys showed up. I was beginning to think that I was going to be a goner,” Mark said. “I’m Spartan-632, we have orders to escort you through Hell. Looks like you did a fine job so far, but we’re here to see that you make it straight to the beast himself,” Gabe said. “Alright, but we have one huge pain in the ass mission,” Mark told him. “Ever been inside one of the Elite’s ships?” “Not in my life, but I’m sure it would be pretty cool,” Gabe replied. “Well then, as long as you get us through this damn forest, you and Kilo will help us capture an Elite flag ship,” Mark said. “Good. I’m sure my squad and Kilo will enjoy having a challenge for once,” Gabe said grinning inside his helmet. Chapter 7 “I don’t understand,” Colonel Hayes said. “I don’t know why my race betrayed me, but I won’t betray you. The Elites have attacked many of your colonies, but I have not laid a single finger of you humans, other than the rebels. I have even killed some of my own people. And now you think that I shall go back to the family that used me as a tool?” N’ Thar said glaring at the colonel. “Yes, I do,” Lieutenant Molkov shouted. “How do you expect us to believe that you won’t go and turn you back on us. The Elites were or allies, but they attacked our trading planet and sided with the rebels,” a young captain said. “You people will not listen to logic. When you fear something, you try to isolate it and kill it off. All of humanity is the same!” N’ Thar shouted back. “Take him out of here. Kill him, and dump the body out the ship’s vent,” Hayes told the guards. They grabbed N’ Thar’s massive arms and dragged him out of the room. The doors slammed shut and three dull booms echoed through. The sound of abody hit the floor and being dragged off made the three officers grin. • “Hello? Is anyone in there?” shouted a voice. “I wonder who that is,” Lexi said. “Yes, we’re here,” Alex shouted back. “How many are with you?” The voice asked. “Just me and someone else. We’re Spartans,” Alex answered. “Alright, we’re coming,” the voice replied. From the distance three people emerged from the smoke and debris. They were each wearing LW MJOLNIR. “Good, more Spartans,” Alex whispered in relief. “Alex? Lexi? How did you get in here? What happened?” asked one of the Spartans. Alex looked at his right shoulder. His number was 632; Alex’s cousin. Never mind that. Why did that Elite try to kill me back there? Are they sided with the rebels now?” Alex asked. “Unfortunately, yes,” the Spartan replied. His name was Gabe. “So the Elites just crashed their ship into the planet?” Lexi asked. “It seems so. There are way more of them than us Spartans. Even with the other marines they still outnumber us. There have been countless reports of this in the past hour or so on different planets. They are trying to kill off the Spartans and then take the marines as easy pickings,” Gabe said. “But what about that other Elite? N’ Thar?” Lexi asked. “He was simply a distraction,” Gabe replied. “Now we have to get back to the base and report you in. They thought everyone was killed by that ship so they had marked you as KIA.” Chapter 3 Alex sent a message to Command telling them Lexi and him were alright. “We need to find out why the Elites have joined the rebels,” Lexi said. Almost directly after she stopped talking, the Elite, N' Thar stepped up to them. Alex grabbed his knife and raised his arm so it was level with the Elite's enormous head. “Stop, I am not with S' Ren. The Elites have betrayed me. I will aid you in your civil war, even though it might start one with my race,” N' Thar said. “How can we trust you?” Gabe asked. “Did you once, see me try to harm you? S' Ren and I never did get along, but this pushes it too far,” N' That answered. “Very well, but you will come with us to Command and explain in full detail to all of us,” Lexi said. They got in Gabe's transportation warthog and left. Chapter 4 Mark was panting hard now. Beta squad and him had been shipped out to the planet Rycon Nep. He had got his wish; he had become an Omega Spartan. Mark reloaded his battle rifle, lifted it up and shot a rebel twice in the chest, then once in the head. “Area secure.” Mark said over the COM channel. “Blue-one, plant the nuke next to the rebel's fusion reactors. That should take out their MAC guns.” Mark said. “Roger Blue-leader.” Blue-one replied. The ODST's were dropping in now. The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers were the closest thing to a Spartan the UNSC had. The were brutal and could take one helluva beating. Two of them approached Mark. “We have the nuke right here,” they said motioning to a large crate. “Good, the enemies around here have been neutralized. Take the bomb to Blue-one and help her arm it. Set the timer to three minutes. When the timer is set, tell everyone to get in the pelican. We are going to blow these bastards straight to Hell,” Mark said. He assembled the rest of his squad and over the COM channel, told Red team to fall back to the ship. “Negative, Blue-leader. Red-leader is down. Under heavy fire. Arm the nuke and leave us here. We will hold them back.” “Everyone on the ship now! The nuke is armed,” barked one of the ODST's. They all got on the ship. “Pilot, take off now. We are leaving Red team behind,” Mark said. The Spartans shifted uneasily. It was hard to leave comrades behind, but in war, everything was hard. “Aye, sir,” the pilot answered. As they took off, Mark checked Red team's biomonitors. All but one was flat, but after they were in the air and the nuke went off, the meter dropped all the way down. Mark hadn't realized how much more difficult an Omega Spartan's missions would be than an Athen's or a Hades'. He got his wish, but at the cost of half of his squad.“Sir, rebel MAC guns are off line. The UNSC fleet will soon begin its salvo of attacks on them. Mission accomplished,” the pilot said and they left the planet's atmosphere. Chapter 5 Delta squad left the ship’s bay in a pelican. Alongside them was the Elite N’ Thar. He had proven that he was innocent and command had sent him on the mission. He had a plasma rifle strapped to his waist and a beam rifle on his back. The Spartans were wearing their LW MJOLNIR and were equipped with four fragmentation grenades, a battle rifle, and a sniper. They would soon be landing on the planet Uron Sinti VI. The planet was one of the rebel’s military manufacturing bases. This mission would be difficult. They would have to find the rebel’s main generator to their manufacturing plant and plant a fifty megaton bomb next to it. This would be more than enough to finish the job. “Alex, what formation are we going in?” Lexi asked. “We’re going with Omega Formation Pegasi Alpha. N’ Thar, your new to it, so you are going to scout ahead with your beam rifle and take out any possible threats. If there is any sign that may lead to us being caught, open up a COM channel and tell us to abort. We will be about half a kilometer away from you and will be giving you support from behind. Spartans, stay about twenty meters away from each other,” Alex said. “Where is the generator located?” N’ Thar asked. Megan opened up a map of the base on the pelican’s display screen. She pointed to a small cliff. “This is where we will be landing. Over here, an estimated sixteen kilometers, is the generator. It will be heavily protected, so we are going to take this route,” She said pointing to a part of the map. “We are going to crawl down this tunnel and into the base’s sewer. Once we meet up here, we can advance forward until we get here,” she said pointing to a small rectangle sized room. “The Generator is right around this corner, so it will be an easy hit.” “And what about the bomb?” Justin asked. “We will be putting our new stealth systems to work. A cloaked pelican will drop off two ODST’s that will give us the bomb. One we have it armed, we get the hell out of there and mission accomplished,” Megan replied. The pelican landed and everyone got out. “N’ Thar, you know what to do,” Alex said as he shouldered his battle rifle. N’ Thar started ahead and the Spartans began to spread out. “Spartan, there are two rebels guarding this entrance to the base. Requesting permission to take them out.” N’ Thar said over the COM channel. “Permission granted. Take out any cameras as well. They already know we are here, but it would be helpful if they don’t know exactly where we are.” Alex said. N’ Thar shouldered his beam rifle, aimed, and shot a series of times. First the two rebels, then the cameras. “Area clear. Advance forward Spartans.” N’ Thar said. Delta squad moved toward the base. “Alright, there is the tunnel,” Lexi said. The lifted up a plate and climbed down the hole. Alex, Justin, Megan, and N’ Thar did the same. “Alright, it’s a straight shot from here. We will continue down this tunnel until it stops and breaks off into two different directions. Once we get there, Justin will lift up the plate just enough so that he can toss a radiation grenade into the room. Once that goes off, activate your shielding systems to the maximum level to escape from severe radiation burns. When we are safely in the generator room, drop a beacon and the ODST’s will give us the bomb. Set the timer for three minutes and get in the pelican,” Alex said. They ran down the tunnel and reached the plate. Justin grabbed his radiation grenade and lifted the plate. He saw about six rebels in the hall. He lifted the safety, pushed the button, threw it by the nearest rebel’s foot and closed the plate. The Spartans and N’ Thar activated their shields and they began to glow a hot white. The burst through the hole and entered the generator room. The rebels outside were burned to death by the immense radiation. “Lexi, drop a beacon so the ODST’s will know we are here,” Alex said. “Already done,” she replied. Soon after, the ODST’s jumped down through the window above them. They signaled to the pilot and he lowered the bomb to them using cables. “We had better hurry. The radiation grenades will wear off anytime now,” Justin said helping the ODST’s. They carried the bomb and placed it by the generator so that it was out of sight. “Okay, the bomb is armed and the timer is set for three minutes. Remote detonation linked to my HUD incase anything goes wrong. Mission accomplished,” Justin said. They each grabbed a cable harness that the pilot threw down to them. They were reeled up and boarded the ship. “Pilot, activate cloaking and Shaw-Fujikawa drive now,” Alex said. “Cloaking enabled. Shaw-Fujikawa drive online. Hang on tight,” the pilot replied. The pelican launched from the base and left the planet in the blink of an eye. They slowed down and looked at the planet. It engulfed in flames and turned into molten rock. What the bomb hadn’t destroyed, the radiation would soon do the job. (continued on next post) [Edited on 04.02.2008 7:34 PM PDT]
