So after two months in, I still think Destiny is a fun game. But as World Mag put it, it's fun but not epic as advertised.
I do get that the game's going to grow. But having gone through everything the game has to offer at this point, I feel like I'm being restrained in my content consumption, because of this "growth" premice.
I like the idea of an evolving game, but I feel that Bungie and Activision have planned content releases poorly. I feel like I'm being kept out of an epic experience until Activision's "subscribers vs. profit thermometer" hits the 3-month mark where gamers usually drop out of games, to release timely DLC.
It's a frustrating feeling, somehow. We, as gamers, have no defense for ourselves because we are drawn in playing the game and by doing so, satisfying the publisher's margin -- so Activision could be saying "Well look at you, you're tired of the grinding yet you're still playing. So just wait, things will come". And they would be right. I want to play this game. And I'm certain that things will come.
But I wish they were more responsible and respectful as a publisher. I feel like I'm giving a lot to a game that doesn't give back, based on the sheer fact that the game is hot, a "trophy game". There's an easy metaphor to be made here, and I'll leave it to your imaginations to open the door and grab the point. Just know this - eventually, people tire of "trophy games" when they insist on being one-dimensional for too long.
So please - release the hounds. You have great mechanics, now just add great content when there's a period of hiatus between DLC releases. It's not about building new stuff necessarily - it's just building on top of what you have. You see my point.
- Iron Banner should be an actual Tournament with rewards for only the best. And it could be about who can make it in the Tournament first, and then who survives a winner next. There's a lot in there.
- Sparrow races: Easy downtime fun that adds the possibility of tournaments as well. Why isn't this in right now? Will you actually put this is Destiny 2 and make us pay full game price? Way to go.
- Faction vs. Faction patrol: Would add a lot of excitement to gathering Spinmetal. Being Dead Orbit, I would be careful not to get dropped on by FWC near the Cosmodrome, and make sure I end up the survivor.
- Weekly player Bounties: Some players could be assigned as having a Bounty on their heads: "Kill Silverley 5 times in a single match" would add sheer excitement to my crucible games. Especially if I lost some of my Glimmer when someone succeeds.
So please DO something. Nature hates a void.

Leave iron banner up all the time for pvp lovers, Queens bounty for the PVE fans. Or alternate one every other week. When I first bought this game QB released. Next week IB. I thought that was the norm. So I waited till boring IB was done thinking finally QB again since I was too weak the first 5 days or so. Nope. Nothing since.

Also they know it's slim pickings for next gen people right now. Maybe by jan/Feb they will pick it up?
