All I can say is WOW
I never have enjoyed Crucible, never played it often, and always got my ass handed to me. Well a friend of mine told me that Hand Cannons are actually a good weapon to use in PvE and even Crucible. I was thinking as he told me this, bullSh!T the Hand Cannon fires to slowly and would get owned against other weapons.
Well I had a Hand Cannon, Fatebringer (From VoG) just sitting there so I decided to take it out in PvE to get a feel for it, and I began to see what my friend was talking about as far as Hand Cannons actually being a pretty bad a$$ weapon. So I needed 10,000 points in Crucible for my Bad JuJu Bounty and decided last night that I would try out my friend's theory with a Hand Cannon.
All I can say is WOW....I usually got like .2 K/D ratio and would get owned in Crucible constantly so I quit playing it a week after this game came out and last night I did 6 or 7 matches with nothing but my Fatebringer and I was STUNNED. I got 1st place in 4 of the matches I played and averaged 18-20 kills per match....I was DUMBFOUNDED at how much Hand Cannons improved my game in Crucible. I think I will become a Crucible player for a bit now, and so that will in return give me more things to do on Destiny that I haven't done and I am hoping it will hold me over until DLC is here.
Can ya'll let me know the top 3 Hand Cannons so that I can get them and get into Crucible a bit more??
Anyone else have an experience similar to this?

The Last Word is number 1. It's full auto and fires fast for a hand cannon. It's and exotic so it's pretty tough to get, but if you can you will love it man.

2 RepliesThis is actually a new thing - prior to 2 weeks ago's patch they were severely outmatched. Also good news, you're already using the best hand cannon in the game, just keep leveling it

As far as crucible hand cannons go, you need to get yourself a Regulator MK .56. These are amazing rare hand cannons with almost maxed impact stat. Other than that I use my The Chance from FWC

5 RepliesI main a rare hand cannon, throwing knife, and sticky grenade and I'm not awesome but I do enjoy the heck out of the crucible when I was like you at first, miserable and getting whooped.

Autorifles have been the worst primary in the game since release so this is no surprise. Why use an a.r. when a hand cannon will kill 2 seconds faster (as long as you can hit). A scout rifle like vision of confluence is also good on the bigger maps that you arent gonna be in peoples faces. Also either a shotgun or fusion rifle will also improve your game if you have one fully upgraded with the bonuses.

2 Repliesthis is the problem with this community. if you suck, its probably because you're just trying something that isn't working for you. get outta your comfort zone, try something new! this guy gets it! you didn't suck, you just werent playing with equipment that complimented your playstyle. instead of looking for something to bitch about, you changed it up and started kicking butt! lotsa cryers on here could learn a thing or two from you!

My best PvE is with handcannons, but my worst PvP is with them as well lol

The Last Word is fun makes you feel like a cowboy from hell lol. Especially with all the uprades you dont even have to aim and its full auto

Yes I was always a hand cannon user, but I got SUROS Regime from a crucible drop, and it's accuracy feels like a hand cannons where it's easy to drop people like that.

Hand cannons fire slowly, but they deal more damage per shot than other types of weapons do. In fact, hand cannons are probably the best all around primary. They just take the most time to get used to.

I got a "Lord High Fixer" in the weekly at lvl 28 and it's beast. Wasn't into the hand cannons till this one. Having a blast using it

Thorn is my weapon in pvp along with found verdict in case I'm forced into close combat

7 RepliesFor crucible: Thorn, Last Word and Hawkmoon in that order. Legendary would be Fatebringer Devil You Know and Lord High Fixer in no particular order. Blue hand cannons with 10+ mag and high impact such as the Painted Big Chief can consistently hang with all of the above.

I love using hand cannons. Used to use High Fixer for range perks but now I use Devil You Know cause Zen Moment (increase stability with damage) helps me land headshots. Still have yet to get my hands on Thorn or Last Word *sob* Anyway the thing I wanted to bring up is that rare, sublevel 20 cannon called Regulator Mk<number>. Its impact stat is the highest of any cannon I've seen. Never used it but I've been killed in 2 shots by it before..

Everyone has a gun they are the most comfortable with. I usually go Auto Rifle or Handcannon myself.

Yea I usually use hand cannons or scout rifles...more so hand cannons tho but I've noticed it takes less for me to die by bullets of thorn. If you can get the exotic bounty for thorn, DO IT...it only has 5-6 shots but from experience of going against it it's pretty damn good
