Gorgon Cave Third Boss Theory

Hello Everyone, As you may know there has been extensive research being done together as a community to discover the proposed 6th and 7th chests. I have been reading and listening as well as attempting many theories with my friends on hard and normal mode. One theory that seems to intrigue me is that there is a third boss within the Gorgon cave that we have yet to discover (or perhaps the vex portal in the platform phase opens to a third boss . . ) As to who this third boss is I cannot say, perhaps Praedyth or Kabr himself but who knows. As to how this boss is spawned I do have a theory; The mythology of the gorgons has been stated already by many people but I will shortly provide some info here. In the myth of the gorgons only one gorgon was completely mortal, Medusa. Perseus used the gifts of the gods to defeat the gorgon medusa and gifted her head to Athena. Athena had a leather shield called an Aegis (same name as our relic shield) and after she received the gift of medusa's head she placed it on her Aegis. This segment of info is key to my theory. I theorize that there is ONE and only one truly kill-able gorgon in the cave ( I know that gorgons are kill-able, but they respawn and none drop any items) and I think that once this gorgon is killed an item will drop (perhaps the gorgons head). This item can then be used in conjunction with the Aegis and can be used to spawn the third boss or spawn a chest. I can't speak for how the item is used or how the relic is obtained but I think that most people agree that there is more to the gorgon cave then just blasting through the cave to get chests and remain hidden. I will be testing this with my crew on both normal and hard mode to see if we can find a single gorgon that is more important in some way. I'll try to post here with some findings and hopefully this sparks a conversation about the link between the gorgons and our Raid mythology. Thanks for sticking around for the lengthy post, Cheers. EDIT: alright so CLEARLY no one saw my post earlier saying this is dead and should NOT be trending again as it is ancient and does not exist. I tested it, hunted for theories and have a lot of hard raids under my belt and imo there's nothing else in the vault, especially not in the cave. So those of you choosing to insult me, jokes on you for wasting time on this thread as it was dead like almost a month ago. Let it go guys.

  • Ok, so this guy was describing the amount of sync plates throughout the Vault. We have the three in the beginning to open the Vault. There is a line sync plate and gate i think on the jumping area. Like to the left i think they described its location and i think ive seen it. Then there are the final two at atheon. His assumption is that if you were to have one person on each of the sync plates that gate would open allowing the sixth player in the raid team to venture alone. There has been speculation that through each passage to the next trail of the raid there is one other alt route. What if you are to use those alt routes as the exit route. I know theres the one near the first chest to get to thr templar to trace back. Templar to the openimg of the vault. The second route from the templar to the gorgons right, thats how you get back to the templar, (where that spirit bloom chest is. Thats the exit route). They havent found the alt route to atheon from the gorgons yet which would be how we leave atheons room after killing him since his door shuts. I speculated that each plate would need to be controlled by specific classes. The first two i would assume hunters control (atheons room) just because their jumping is weak. The warlock to glide to the lone synch plate and the gate. The three titans would struggle with the longest climb back using their jet packs. . . Could also maybe delve deeper into the meaning of those numbers. Like why three titans. Maybe to symbolize the amount of trials Kabr faced. Two hunters, one to symbolize the one hunter (P something, the one that made the Super Good Advice, who witnessed Kabr fall and became terrified being alone) who represents P whatever and the other to represent his AI he made into SGA. The warlock to possibly symbolise Osiris who learned everything about the vex and went on exile. Exile through the final get would be his symbol. Omg this must be tried! Just copied pasted my explanation of another post on this thread to a friend. I went off on the topic a little. Very interested in this if possible. I would like to try and sse but what about that next alt route from gorgon to atheon. Has one beem found to bypass his closed door policy when you defeat him
