I pity players who are satisfied with Destiny.

(Edit: Okay, sorry. The gig is up. I can't keep a straight face anymore. The truthful part of the rant aside, the "pity" part was trollbait, pure and simple, and you desticles took it faster than I thought possible. Thanks for playing!) Yep. Go ahead and read it again. I'll wait. If you enjoy Destiny, if you find it to be a satisfying, fulfilling $60 investment, then I pity you. I don't know what kind of gamer enjoys an experience like this, but I hope I never, ever become anything remotely close to it. I am proud to be someone who is stingier. Who demands more bang for my buck. More substance. Destiny has changed the way I approach game releases, because now I know how much can change from concept to demo to launch, and how much false advertisement a company can get away with. From now on, I will approach hype trains with extreme caution, unless a game's content is being blatantly and obviously shoved in our faces, and we know exactly what is on the disc, like The Master Chief Collection. The MCC is also the last game I will ever pre-order digitally, unless I know precisely what I am getting. I feel very sympathetic for Joe Staten, whose universe he spent seven years building was -blam!- and pillaged. The video proof is there (edit: E3 2013 Closed Doors Demo ; Destiny was a very different game more than a year ago. Unless Joe or Harold themselves come forward and break the silence, absolutely nothing else will convince me that he left a year before launch because his story was butchered and revised for the purposes of appealing to a more casual audience and /or further monetizing the new IP. Creative Director of one of the most successful AAA developers in the industry. That is not a position you vacate lightly. Bungie, I believe your greatest years are behind you. I believe you made a tragic error in joining Activision, and I will not bat an eye if serious financial or occupational consequences befall any individual employees or the studio as a whole, either weeks, months, or even years down the road. A 10-year plan means nothing. I have seen games with long-term plans collapse and die not even a year after launch. (Wow, I should combine a truthful rant with a hint of troll more often. Didn't think it'd go this far.)

  • Bump. I should have learned my lesson long ago with Bungie. I mean hell, I bought into the Halo 2 hype and Halo 3 hype. Halo CE was THE SHIT, so I figured... I was wrong. Bungie was a 1 hit wonder. Disagree if you like. No sweat off my sac.

  • I got my moneys worth. I aim for a dollar per hour so anytime over 60 hours of gameplay is good. Kinda sad about what I thought it would be compared to what it is. It won't be hard to move on though, especially if they don't fix all the little stuff soon.

  • No matter what everyone knows destiny is seriously lacking content even if they won't admit it. Only thing to do is raid and do the few measly strikes that we have. Definitely not worth $60. I wonder if this game was meant to be free to play they but decided to instead price it at $60.

  • So. My usual week, Monday to Saturday, 8am-4pm, work. Evenings: Monday: Poker (£30) Tuesday: Nout Weds: Play Football (£20) Thurs: Poker (£30) Friday: Pub (£70ish) Saturday: watch footy, pub (£50) Sunday: Maybe pub, depends on the footy game on. (£50) Now. Last year I got engaged, saving, wernt really going so well, destinys come out, moneys rolling in the bank, I've a great game, with absolutly tons to do, and don't mind staying in, saving, and enjoying the game with other players. Every DLC that comes out, take my money! IMO, were lucky! Great game! He'll of alot of room for improvement! And they will! Can't wait! You, just sell the game, clearly don't enjoy it, feel ripped off by it, just sell it, and leave the forums, you won't be missed

I appreciate the pity, but you can shove it up your self entitled anus. God forbid I enjoy something I spent my money on. Sick of you damn kids telling people how they should enjoy products they purchased, if you don't like it, piss off.

    • I pity people who think I care about their opinion on how I spend my money. And by pity, I mean I don't give a -blam!- about, to be clear.

    • If it made you a smarter consumer, than good.. because seriously, if your expectations of what the game would be was that far off from reality, you needed to smarten up a bit... You must have over-glorified it waaaayyy too much in your head from what they actually showed.

    • Sure does amaze me how many people hate this game but, still happen to be here in the forums of said hated game a month and a half after it came out. If this game disappoints you so much you would think you could have found something else to do with your time. I don't know about you but I typically don't do things in my free time for months that I hate. As for the money investment. You have spent 45 hrs playing this game and spent $60 that is 1.33/hour. A single 2 hr movie is $5.87/ hr. I would say you got way more bang for your buck playing this game than any other form of entertainment out there. Just saying if ya hate the game maybe the games forums is a bad place for you to spend your time. TROLL ON!

    • I 2nd this. I mean, we should all be mad. What this is doing is opening the door for all developers to give us lack luster content then charge even more for something that is on the disc and it's already happening. Maybe this is a way to justify not raising the price of a game ($60 USD) but hardly give any content and charge more later.
