Does anyone know why, in the campaign, the Awoken are not aware that they are Awoken?
By this I mean, when we are told to go to the Queen, my Awoken character draws no ties to being Awoken. He stumbles about it wondering what they are. And when we reach the Queen, there is no banter between the Awoken and my character regarding that we are of the same race.

The one thing I've read that makes the most sense is that we all are using the Exo starting scene as opposed to each races unique starting experience. #conspiracies #illuminati #ermagherd

You've been dead hundreds of years plus the awoken on the reef have a way different set of ideals and beliefs then the ones on earth which is where your character is from. Plus if you're male then it makes more sense since the reefs awoken see females as higher up then males. The queens brother is just up there because he's her brother.

Also your character has been dead for hundreds of years and we dont know what the awoken and human ties were like when the character was alive

Two answers, 1. At some point a few awoken came back to earth to fight and their decendants (us) share no real ties with those that stayed in the reef nor do they know much about them. ( I believe this is stated somewhere in the grimoire cards) While this does make sense and answers a few things, I feel it leaves a lot to be desired and still makes your character out to be an idiot in the game. I believe the real answer to your question is the theory that....... 2. There was supposed to be three different version of the intro and reef sequence; one for each race. I really do believe this as it would make so much more sense.
