In the next Iron Banner, players will receive a Medallion of Iron on a loss. Upon their next win, each Medallion they carry will convert into a reputation gain almost equal to a win.
I'm glad Bungie is addressing the quitters, but doesn't this devalue winning? Everybody is bound to get get carried by their team once in a while, so the vast majority of those losses will become almost-wins. Why not just have a system that penalizes quitting without affecting rewards? Halo matchmaking outright banned players for TrueSkill boosting in the past! To be honest, I was surprised and disappointed to see that Destiny didn't have a similar system. Players who quit Crucible/Iron Banner should have their access limited, or just lose reputation... Quitting hurts your fellow teammates' experience, and deserves to be punished. I have to imagine there is a way to do this without being overly burdensome to the average player that only quits occasionally for life reasons (1-free-quit-per-day, or something?). I think Lord Saladin needs to sharpen his Banhammer, lest the tower start to think he's going soft...
