Iron Banner gear 30 light, how long till...
These forums get flooded by a wave of nonsense posts along the lines of "I earned my level 30"?
I hit 30 after 2 normal raids and 1 hard. So second Tuesday the raid was out I was working on shards for 30. I am extremely lucky I know. Back in the time when people used to kill bosses, yet I wouldn't claim I earned them. Just really lucky.
I'm playing with a number of people who are not so lucky. Two of which both need raid boots to hit 30. For the last month they both have done the raid on normal and hard mode each week 3x characters. No joy for them and it can be very "upsetting" for people in their position.
Because of this I welcome the upgraded iron banner gear. But like evey Friday we see the old "I earned whatever Xur is selling thread" how long till we see something about being 30?
Are you 30, how do you feel about it?

I'm just glad there's more than one armor option now. IMO the Raid gear looks ugly.

I'm lv30 but I would like a 30 light chest piece so I can take off this damn raspberry. Would also like an arm piece with different skills.

I'm OK with it, I understand some people struggle to find time to raid or find a team to do it with. An alternative to make things easier is welcomed if you ask me, more level 29-30's won't affect my gameplay experience negatively in anyway. Level 30 seems to invoke the idea it's an exclusive club to some people, that I don't understand.

I'm interested though to see if the VM fix will effect iron banner. . Honestly I hope it does. There should be a benefit to beating the hardest part of the game. Honestly I can't wait for cod to drop so the 12 to 14 year olds leave this community.

I won't be reaching 30 from iron banner due to me not having the damn raid boots. But I'm going to buy the gloves and chest because it looks way cooler than the raid gear.

Umm depends on how lucky I am with drops. If I can just get the gauntlets, I'll be 30. If not, I'll be level 29. I just put this in a post but, IMO, they need to put in a shard for raid gear system. Make it 50 shards for one piece of gear. That or make it where you can buy a buff that significantly increases your drop chances for raid gear. Say 20 shards for the buff and have it last the entire raid

1 ReplyGrinded my titan to level 29. Raided and raided and raided and raided some more. Got lucky and got everything..... except the boots, in my raiding travels. Made a second titan. Doubled the grind since week 2 of raiding. So that's twice a week normal and hard mode runs since raid launch. No boots. Made a hunter class for fun and for a 3rd character slot to fill. Got her to 26 because of the Queens gear that was available. Went to raid with the hunter. First run normal. Second run hard. Hunter class comes out with full raid gear and Mythoclast. Still need to finish upgrading the gear, but my hunter is basically 30 now. Worked so hard on my titan, now my brand new hunter outshines him. So sad =( Hunter is fun, like that class a lot for pvp. Just saddens me more that I love titan the best and worked so hard for random chance and my hunter comes out with all the swag ever. New system of loot needs to be put in motion. I agree for iron banner to give 30 gear.

Im not 30, havent had a single piece of armour from 2 runs of the raid (though I got VoC, Praedyths Revenge and Hezen Vemgeance so I cant complain too much lol). People are going to moan, whatever. Let em be salty. 😄

Destiny is the only game where I've felt like I've paid for content that I will never be able to take advantage of because of the nature of said content. That's hugely disappointing, for sure, but I've still had a good amount of fun with what I [b]can[/b] play.

2 RepliesI ain't 30 but I see more and more 30s every day now and it isn't so special and no one 'earned' lvl 30 you just got lucky. I have been at the top of the leader board in most raids I have been in and I ain't no lvl 30. The only thing you earn in this game is gear from Xur and reputation gear.

Im a level 30 and im actually excited for this update. It means more people will be able to effectively participate in hard raids. It gives up a wider variety of armoe to wear and still be max level rather than being forced to wear the raid gear. It gives people who dont have the time or arent able to get a raid team together an opportunity to reach a higher level

I earned my level 30, I earned it through sheer unadulterated tin arse luck!! Lol I don't put much weight in my skill to get to 30, I know the RNG gods were kind to me

Same position, hit 30 with my Titan relatively early but my other characters just kept getting shards and shards and shards. No armour, no weapons nothing, threw me right off Destiny. I might have been tempted back on if this was a PVE event, but the amount of Iron Banner grinding you'd have to go through to buy that armour, no thanks, I'll stick with Borderlands.

I wouldn't mind it, I've been level 30 for a while now and I think new armor to help you reach 30 will be cool. I have about 4 friends missing one piece of raid gear so they are just stuck on 29 until the RNgesus decides to give them what they need lol

Got my warlock and hunter to 30 last week. Working on my Titan right now. Got every weapon the raid has to offer. Once I get my Titan to 30, I'll just have to wait till dlc. With enough runs of the raid you will eventually get the gear you need. But I agree, it can be frustrating.

Iron banner and VoG may get you the gear but what dictates you getting to lvl 30 is the ascendant shards. I got enough energy to sink a ship but I'm lucky if I get so much as two or three shards a day.

2 RepliesI think the two slots is a okay idea(still believe there should be an element of luck) but I think that the iron banner should NOT sell boots. This is because I think the boots should need to come from the raid as they are the only thing that can't be exotic

Me personally I think there are not enough ways to get 30 I'm a pve player so now that they're adding Lv 30 pvp gear it doesn't effect me although I'm will to test it out for the gear. I have a lot of friends that primarily play pvp. So this new option to get Lv 30 through pvp is great it adds variety to the game. I challenge Bungie to make a raid like pvp game though. Something that is always there to play like the raid and not a week long event that some people might not be able to play.

Iron Banner only has 2 pieces of Armor that have 30 light. So you will still need at least 1 Raid piece of armor and 1 Exotic Piece of Armor or skip the Exotic and need 2 Raid Armor pieces
