Bungie STOP! Just stop! Seriously don't make another mistake. DLC info. And you won't have a 10 year Franchise, If you don't change End Game.

You want to do raids to get level cap.

You want to do raids for Gear with better stats.

Ok so I just seen this http://wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/leak-suggests-bungie-set-raise-destinys-level-cap-dark-dlc/#.VErRdteK5VE.facebook Bungie for real? This is the best $500 million dollars can come up with? I'm not one to sit here and complain about how much content is going to be released, Or the lack of content and all that other crap. But you guys are seriously going down the wrong road when it comes to Level cap and Raiding. Raiding and getting max level should not even be in the same sentence. But with you guys I guess it has to be. So according to this level cap will be increased to 32? Ok that's not a problem, But making us have to do raids to obtain that is the problem. Still here stuck at 29 on 3 characters, because I lack the luck to get my gear in the raid. You guys really need to change it, People are going to get sick of chasing Light Levels, Cause I know I'm about to give up on it. There is no content in this game that forces us to have max level, Its just a number. The gear is what matters to me and others. And that's what the raid should be focused on, Not light levels, But better stats and mods. We shouldn't be doing the raid to get max level, We should be doing the raid to get the best gear in the game that you can't buy or find in a chest/Engram. Raid gear should have stats that are far superior to anything we can get on the outside. Not only would allowing players to reach level cap outside of raid gear make End Game better, But it would allow for gear diversity, Which this game doesn't really have. Right now its 3 pieces of raid and one Exotic, sure 80% of players at level 30 will all look the same. You guys really need to look at other games in the MMO genre. I haven't played many, But none I have played had me doing End game to reach a max level. They had me busting my rear end, To get the best gear in the game. Always see people on these forums complaining that Exotics aren't so Exotic, Changing End Game would help. And it would give your game a longer life span. Cause I'm sorry to say once I hit level 30 I'll be done, But if I was doing End Game for better gear, Then this game would be worth sticking around for after reaching cap. TL;DR Bungie needs to rethink their End Game gear and make level cap obtainable through other means.

  • The game didn't cost 500mil to make. Most of it was advertising and they got shafted earlier this year.

    • you know that only about 75 million of that went to actual development. the vast majority of it was advertisement. you should have seen the time square adverts. those cost a fortune themselves.

The level cap is 20. Your light "level" is a stat derived from high level gear that boosts your characters' performance beyond the normal cap. So your light level is basically your gear score beyond 20. I don't see how that's much different from any other mmo, except that they word it differently. I also assume that casual DLC gear will get you to 30-31. So it'll be much the same as before.

Most certainly wasn't spent on he game

http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/74878432/0/0/1 the solution is to have MORE gear that lets you get to light 30 which is available outside of the raid. The new Iron Banner gear is a good start but we need gear available in PvE

        • I don't want to do raids at all. In the current system, level 30 means either: "I copied a checkpoint, pushed a guy off a cliff, and got lucky." Or, it means "My fireteam and I spent hours figuring out a complex puzzle, persevered through many challenges, and got lucky." There are plenty of people at 29, who have repeatedly tried both approaches or something somewhere in between, and never got lucky. Like the OP. And then once you're level 30...what? The world looks exactly like it did after you hit level 3.

          • Personally, raids should not be about gear at all. Yes, you should need decent gear, but it should not be about the gear. Look at how BL1 did things. While not the best example, look at how BL2 did things. Look at how dark souls, demon souls, and dark souls 2 did things. While leveling was a huge part of the fun of BL, so was collecting items and so was actually playing the game. For dark souls a lot of the fun was playing the game. Demon souls? It was a combination of playing the game and leveling. You had people grinding to hit high levels, but you also had people that would replay the game because it was fun. Bungie needs to learn from that and actually focus on the gameplay. In BL2, I was maxed out in levels really quickly. However, I still did a lot of the content I had cleared because it was fun to do them.

          • I just wanted to say that, I don't see our light levels as Item Levels, As someone has pointed out. Yes our actual level is maxed at 20, And our light can get us to 30, So yes it would be an Item level. But I feel like we shouldn't be raiding to gain 1 light level, or 2 light level (If new cap is 32). We should be raiding for gear/weapons, That are just to put it simple, badass. Look at all the people who reached cap two three weeks after the raid was added. They must be bored out of their minds, Why? Because there isn't any real rewards after you've reached the goal of getting level 30. Sure there's HM, But I'm sure they beat it and got their VMs. Vex Mythoclast is kind what I'm talking about for rewards, Until they nerfed it. Was/still is a pretty awesome reward. Bungie should have like new gear that comes out in the DLC, That cost like 195 point for one piece of gear, That's two weeks of saving. And you need four pieces to get the next level cap, That's one month just to get 4 pieces (Vanguard/Crucible) for one character. But it and raid gear would have equal light, So we could raid, Or buy out light levels, But Raid gear would be way better in terms of stats. Like a raid helm could have 20-40 more points of a stat and three to four mods.

            • I agree. Raiding should be to get the best gear, Not for getting max level. I just need a few upgrades on my head piece and I'll reach level 30. Once I'm level 30 there really isn't much left to do, I can keep trying to get Vex Mythoclast, But I'm not so worried about it. I'll take a break until DEC, cause I already bought the pass. But if it doesn't offer any changes then I'm just going to move on. I have friends with 3 of the same classes and run the raid on each of them, Every week and they are still not even close to level 30.

If it's just a number then 29 should be good enough. Considering you can hm VoG at 29. Maybe I should read the article... Just read it. It doesn't say there isn't anything about breaking 29 without a raid either. Also I have played a couple of mmo's that require you to raid for the best gear. After 20 you chase an item level as opposed to character level. I don't know of a game that allows you to take one set of vendor purples and jump your ilvl to hard mode end game in a day or two. Most require you to run instanced areas for gear to get into beginners raid and then once geared into hard mode.
