Really? I can barely hear people sometimes because the music and sound effects are so damn loud.
You suck bungie.
“So what I’ll say to you is: we said that we were a ten-year game, and both Activision and Bungie have committed to being wholly behind the large effort, and it’s a large investment for both sides. I don’t think there’s any set date – ten years is just representing the go-forward presence and the way that we think about doing things.” - Jonty Barnes Head of Productions at Bungie
LOL! So f*ckin' spot-on. Budget speculations aside, I couldn't have said it better myself. Whether it's a AAA title or an indie game, it's just a massive oversight to not include any volume options. In my honest opinion, all games should come standard with completely customizable controls (not merely button layouts) and completely customizable sound. Infact, they should allow minor sound and visual effects, that are not burn-in or pre-rendered, to be manipulated through an options menu. Each user finds different sounds specifically annoying. Friends of mine have mentioned how much they despise the proximity sound effect of things like chests and gatherables. While I don't hate that, I do hate the music volume and some other minor sound effects that are recurrent throughout the game. Seems like sheer laziness or a complete lack of insight into the end-user's expectations by Bungie. I often wonder if they ever really played their own game. PC games seem light-years ahead of consoles in regards to UI/UX. It's an unnecessary drawback of console gaming.
