exotic engrams are a joke
All I have wanted since I started playing a hunter was the exotic young ahamkaras spine gauntlets. I have not been able to find them anywhere and so decided to spend my hard earned motes of light on the exotic engram. Which is the equivalent of reaching level 43 xp wise. I get -blam!-ing sunbreakers from the decoding. Why the -blam!- should I save for weeks on end to buy an engram that gives me a piece of shit I'm never going to use. That may have been the final straw and the end of destiny for me

1 ReplyI got 1 of each class exotic, got the spine on my 3rd attempt. I already had titan arms do binned them for the shards. Its totally random, that much is stated. Just have to dive in and pray to RnGesus

Luckily I have a character from each class over 20, and none have exotic gloves (just exotic heads and chests), so whatever comes out of that engram is a win for me. XD

I wanted sunbreakers for my warlock, so I used the engram on my hunter and it gave me sunbreakers. imo the trick is decoding it on the character you /don't/ want the item for XD because I've never gotten an item of the same class from an exotic engram.

I have the Spine Gauntlets and they are sweet (but these days I take them off in favor of an extra Golden Gun Shot with my Exotic Helmet).

Everyone knows the drop is random from the engram's you may or may not get the one you want/ that's why its a engram's an not the item itself. Its a gamble. If you don't like trying your odds then gtfo of the Casino. Besides there's only 3 exotic hands in the game so you have a 33% chance of getting the hunter spine gauntlets. An honestly they look cool but they suck compared to other exotics for the hunter I got em the first week of launch an their lure quickly ran out

I got No Backup Plan Titan Gauntlets using my Warlock. Good thing my Titan does not have exotic gauntlets. I will try again if I can get 13 more motes this weekend since my Warlock and Hunter both are missing an exotic Gauntlet. My luck I will get another No Backup Plan.

You sound like an idiot. You bought an item that clearly states that it'll give you a random class item and you act surprised when it gives you one for a different class. If anything you should have been surprised if it gave you Hunter Gauntlets. Today, I shall try my luck at getting the Spine. But I won't cry when I don't get it.

Motes aren't that hard to get. You can get them fro. Engram's, which is where I get the bulk of mine from. I'm sitting on 61 motes. And I've bought the exotic engram from xur every week besides the first and last week. Have 3 characters probably helps me though

The engram says random class on it. It has a disclaimer right on the packaging. You took the risk.

I saved for two weeks. Bought one and got the no back up for a Titan but i bought another one and got the spine. I never gave up and i got what i wanted. It was getting dark for me but now i see the light. Just hang in there man. As advice i get a lot of motes from rare engrams so the tiger strike is the way to go.

With 68 motes in hand, I bought an engram. Sunbreakers. Back to Xur for another engram, back to Cryptard. No Backup Plan. Sigh. I quick farm one more mote, buy a third engram, and decrypt. Young Ahamkara's Spine. Sorry bruh.

You have a 33.3% chance of getting them from the engram because there are only three exotic gauntlets in Destiny (I think), and that's better odds compared to most other exotic engrams

2 RepliesIt explains that it is random when you buy it. That is the chance you take and you knew that. Be salty somewhere else. The way you come off is comparable to an entitled , snot nosed rich kid. I guess I should probably tell you that I did the same thing as you and in fact DID receive them this morning. I also play as a Hunter. Better luck next time, I guess?

Wanted warlock gauntlets since I wasn't focusing on my warlock when the sunbreakers were available..I buy 2 engrams today and get no backup plan for titan and young ahamkara for hunter
