Exotic weapons need a patch, not a nerfed patch, but a damage modifier patch!!! Patch in a slot that players can change out anytime at a cost of weapon parts, materials, and a couple ascendant energies! This slot would alter, for instance, Gjallarhorn from solar damage to arc damage or void damage! If you decide to go back to solar damage from say arc damage, then you'd have to pay the price in upgrade materials! In the case of an exotic like Red Death (which has no modifier) add the slot so we can make it arc, solar, or void and as stated above, changeable at a materials cost! Legendary weapons stay the way they are, if they're solar they're always solar...but exotics could change, if the upgrade price is right!!! :-)
Edit#1...This idea would be useful in PvE mode!!!
Edit#2...Exotics being aquired easily or not, is not the point...the point is being able to craft my exotics to fit a particular PvE situation (like this weeks Nightfall where Arc is useful, for instance)!!! I don't like carrying a variety of weaker weapons for situations where a particular damage type is useful...it'd be nice to adapt my exotics for any PvE situation I may encounter!!!

Weapons from the raid give those modifiers. I think that was the intention. To only be able to get primaries with solar, arc, or void from the raid.
